We complain about the United States Postal Service, but take a look at the beating this envelope received while in the hands of the United Parcel Service. And what was in it you ask? My recent Irish Seahorse purchase. Fortunately, the dealer had it carefully cocooned in protective wrappings. The envelope looks like it was run over by a truck, doesn’t it? When I saw the envelope, I almost fainted! Scared the bejeebers out of me! Sheesh! I asked the dealer to try one of the courier services because of all the recent USPS problems. Not much of an improvement at all. And their customs people were flummoxed by the description “Irish document”. Poor Padraig was tied up on the phone for an hour with these folks. I told the poor guy to go have a beer and put it on my tab lol! By the way, one of the Eire Philatelic Association officers was talking with the dealer while he was in Ireland. He kindly offered to hand carry it across the pond. Nice guy!

Hey Theresa,
I think it more than looks like it was run over by a truck. I think it was actually run over by a truck, well a least a front loader. It looks like they just fork up mail by the bucket full and any that falls out is just run over by the loader!

I have had mis-handling issues with UPS and FedEx... I have seen drivers open the back door and packages fall out and they pick up and toss back in. Most claims for breakage damage is such a PITA and stretched out and in most cases (for me) they have denied the claim, regardless of how much packaging was used....
USPS may be slow, buit nothing has ever been damaged.
I have lost a couple of shipments but they were both outside US, so not sure if it was USPs (but they sure can be slow!)
Glad your contents were safe!

Considering the circuitous route my new laptop has taken to reach me, I sure hope it doesn't look like your package, Terri, when it finally reaches me on Tuesday! Oh my! What a mess that is! Glad though that it was expertly packaged for that rough ride!
