I appear to have erred in my posting of Canadian Cinderellas and have deleted the lovely sheet shown by Thefirstfrog in the process ! If he is still around, I would ask that he re-post the item on this thread and accept my apologies for the gaff !!
Oops ! Londonbus1
In the meantime, please post your Canadian Philatelic Exhibtion stuff here.
Many thanks.

Not a cinderella, but it fits best here. This is a copy of the CAPEX 1951 official catalogue. CAPEX 1951 was Canada's first international philatelic exhibition, held to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Canada's first stamp, the 3 penny beaver. It's interesting to look through old books like this and to see so many names recognizable among the exhibitors and dealers present. Ryan

I was looking through some old copies of The Czechoslovak Specialist, the journal of the Society for Czechoslovak Philately. This edition contains their review of CAPEX 78, Canada's second international philatelic exhibition. Sounds like boundless excitement! People waiting 5 1/2 hours in line to buy souvenirs, people fainting while standing in line, etc. I can't imagine throngs like that nowadays. The Czechoslovak Specialist, Sept 1978 - the CAPEX article begins on page 2 Ryan
