Today I was going to auction off a few New Zealand postal fiscals, but it was intimated that my value estimate might be off. I couldn’t figure out how I was so far off, then I reread the catalog. The catalog prices were for used copies with postal cancels. Aha! Live and learn. (FYI - those are up for grabs in a giveaway

I run into postal cancels vs revenue/fiscal usages quite a bit when looking for Bermuda key plate issues. Those are frequently found with a hole punched “cancel” and are worth much less in that condition.
What are some other examples of different cancels or usages that drastically change a stamp’s value?
