I just got 5 stamps added to the Scott Catalogue!

Malaysia is one of my focus countries, and as I was doing research while laying out my pages for my Malaysia collection, I came across information on Malaysian philatelic blogs about new varieties of the Wilayah Persekutuan Flowers Definitives first issued back in 2007 with new microtexting added to the design.  Was able to finally source them from a dealer in Malaysia on Delcampe earlier this year (would have had them a couple years back but COVID shut down Malaysia Post's international services until early 2022 for mail Malaysia-USA). First image is the set of five, second shows the microtexting located to the right of the flower image - it extend the entire length of the flower vignette



I had checked Scott's 2021 catalogue listings for Malaysia, and these new items (released according to the blogs in late 2018-early 2019) were not listed.  Did not find them in Michel, Gibbons or Yvert either.  So none of the big 4 seemed to know anything about these.  So I sent a letter to Scott's new issue letter saying I had new versions of these stamps with microtexting, I can send you a set to verify them so that they can be listed in the catalogue.  Reply came back please send, sent them in mid-June.

And in the August 2022 Scott Monthly Update, they were listed.

I also got a letter from Mr Frankievicz at Scott returning the stamps I sent in (I actually had bought two sets, so now I have a spare), confirming the listings.


So feeling pretty chuffed that I  was able help add new listings to the Scott catalogue!
