Hi everyone from a new U.S. member - Over the past couple of years I've gotten back into collecting after a long hiatus. Like many people of a certain age I started collecting when even small town department stores sold beginner stamp collecting kits. I come from a family of collectors and that plus the money from my paper route gave me my start way back when. I'm sort of a general/hobby collector focusing on the U.S., Canada, GB, and Germany. I've learned a lot from forums like this (like NOT to throw away the five unopened packages of Denison hinges I had from 1970) and appreciate everyone's willingness to share their knowledge and expertise. Thanks!

What I collect: My focus is on Wild Mammals on maximum cards. Occasionally, I get or create maximum cards with other animals, or any other topic.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Welcome to the Forum. Your using your paper route money is very familiar. Many stamps came from the local 5 & dime store but living in a small town it was rather limiting. In the early 1960's I started buying from an approval company and sadly bought way too many CTO's from eastern block countries. Lucky that my interest waned for a few decades so that spared me going even far down that road.... . We look forward to interacting with you.

I'm sort of a general/hobby collector. Welcome to a nice place! When reading your introduction I realize we have lots on common - firstly the hiatus - and I also once used all my money from my paper route for buying beginner kits a the local store! I hope you will enjoy it here ! Jon

What I collect: Used only - Australia, Great Britain, Canada, Ireland, Western Europe, and Scandinavia, from 1900 to date. That keeps me busy. To be honest I am trying to avoid becoming a WW collector.
