I received the below labels the other day and was just Googling to see if Eynhallow was a legitimate local post or a fabrication by someone hoping to make money by duping unwitting collectors. When using the search terms "eynhallow, scotland" and "local post" this thread topped the listing of results -- an indication that The Stamp Forum can become a valuable resource for collectors (searching only on "eynhallow, scotland" returns the thread toward the bottom of the 5th page of results). That aside, I have been unable to find any indication that a local post ever existed on Eynhallow, Scotland -- the vast majority of search returns are for ebay listings or stamp sales websites. Does anyone know if the Eynhallow labels were the creation of the late Clive Fiegenbaum and Stampdile, Ltd.?

Feigenbaum's Wikipedia page links him with the Eynhallow issues. The mention of "deliberate errors" is interesting - 1.5 million stamps with errors, 14,000 different errors, wow! I don't know if I could think of 14,000 ways to make a "mistake". If you go to the Stampdile website, it isn't difficult to find some rather improbable errors, like this one that "accidentally" has stamps from 5 different countries on it. For only £150. haha If I climb into the Wayback Machine I can refresh my memory with a post I made on Usenet (rec.stamps.collecting.discuss) regarding some of Feigenbaum's many legal adventures.A different kind of man, no doubt! The opinion published in the second case (http://law.justia.com/cases/federal/appellate-courts/F2/888/385/203651/) is actually a pretty good read, light on the legalese and with dashes of wit. Here are my favorite bits: Also, be sure to check out ¶5 and the accompanying footnote 1 for a bit of history on Staffa.

With all these stamps that inhabitants of Eynhallow (all 0 of them) must be writing letters all day. Well I guess it could be the visitors...

The BBC news website has been posting articles on Britain in their Travel section. Fairly regularly there will be a story about some tiny island that stamp collectors will have heard of before. A couple of days ago there was an article on Eynhallow - the site was once inhabited but was abandoned in 1851 after a plague struck the island. Tourists are allowed to visit one day per year. That doesn't explain why Clive Feigenbaum needed to issue all those stamps, of course .... Ryan

I can't find any reference on TSF to another of these tiny islands, namely Easdale. This would appear to be one of those used in Clive Feigenbaum's portfolio. I have a few color separation sheets which I'll try to find and post in another thread.

1974 Centenary of Winston Churchill Military Uniforms I have the same set of military uniforms shown above, plus a couple of other ship-themed issues: I was young and inexperienced when I acquired those "stamps". I now try to restrict myself to things that have or had actual postal value.

I expect all of our members to respect the collecting interests of others. Derisive comments have no place on this forum.
