Hi,
I live in Herfordshire just north of London.
I collected all world stamps avidly as a child and was much inspired by my grandfather who passed many of his excess items to me. At around the age of 13/14 I boxed up my stamp collection and put it aside where it spent the next 50+ years without seeing the light of day. Last year I retired and thought I would retrieve my collection and rehouse the stamps in stock books because I noticed that my old albums were starting to get mildewed. Doing this gave me a fascinating couple of days with some stamps bringing back very specific memories of the circumstances of when they were acquired. So, after completing this task and spending much time on Ebay looking at current costs and values, I thought I would restart my collection. I now concentrate on pre-decimal British but now feel that I should specialise further and find myself concentrating on KEVII and KGV.
Looking forward to many interesting hours on this forum.
David

Greetings! Welcome! You mentioned pre-decimal UK - well I just completed hosting a giveaway here that was either pre-decimal or decimal issues. I have one packet of about 100 pre-decimal that went unclaimed and I’d be happy to send it to you. Send me a message here with your snail mail address and they are yours. You see, once you are a full member with 50 good posts, you can participate in the trades, sales and giveaway portion of the forum. Our group prides itself on members hosting giveaways, drawings, fund raisers for forum expenses etc. and on the recipients being appreciative and eventually taking their turns being the donors or reciprocating in other ways. Sometimes giving stamps to friends is much more rewarding than dealing with the hassles of selling for a few $£¥€ etc. Our system is delightfully successful because this is a great group and the events are just plain FUN! You’ll be glad you joined!

What I collect: Used only - Australia, Great Britain, Canada, Ireland, Western Europe, and Scandinavia, from 1900 to date. That keeps me busy. To be honest I am trying to avoid becoming a WW collector.
