Hi All I Tony and am Based near Canterbury Kent in the UK.
I started collecting stamps back in the 1970s as a school boy and it wasnt until a year or so ago that whilst visiting my father who was clearing out the attic of our family home that he said he was "going to throw out my old stamps" if I didnt want them, that my interests were re-kindled.
I also had a collection of stamps some inherited some donated and most purchased from local auctions that had come with me through various house moved that were boxed up in the cellar of my own home that I hadnt looked at for a number of years so I started to go through and start to collate and sort.
Over the last year I have been sorting, cataloguing, buying, selling ( Mostly buying) my interests are primarily GB & Commonwealth Victoria - QE11 1970 and I am currently focusing on updating my SG GB album filling gaps and moving to mint from used stamps
I wanted to join a forum to further my knowledge and understanding especially as I recently came across a stamp that I have been unable to find out too much about hence joining here and will post on this in due course.
I very much look forward to exploring and I am afraid asking lots of questions ;-)
best regards
Tony

Welcome to the Forum tony from Canterbury Kent, The story of your philatelic history is a familiar one we see here quite often. You're young and bit by the philatelic bug, stick your toe in the water and develop an interest in stamp collecting, a lack of young resources and life gets in the way so these youthful collections go into hibernation somewhere. Time passes and one day there's a re-awakening and your hooked again except now you have time and different resources. It's a familiar pattern but brimming with excitement and nostalgia the second time around. Good luck on your odyssey, enjoy your time here. Here's a tip, Explore the vast archives here at TSF, you will be amazed at the wealth of knowledge contained in these old threads, they could possibly open up entire new areas of collecting you never knew existed or add something to that missing knowledge about an area you currently collect. Over time, you can share your unique discoveries with the rest of us on the Forum thus adding to our growing knowledge base... Rob in Michigan
