For the record, I think it is an unlisted "Newspaper Branch" postmark for printed matter GB. It is most probably of the family of Type 31, shown in Curt Fernau handbook.

Rod, the top portion looks like the head of a blue jay, the beak pointing to the left

My off-topic blue jay story. Once upon a time I was at a bird sanctuary in Ohio. I had just finished lunch and I had a toothpick in my mouth. This particular area of the sanctuary was kind of like a free range cage, a big separate structure with double doors to allow people to come in while the birds stayed inside. I sat down on a bench and let the various birds wander around - there was a nice mix, some flying songbirds, some ground birds, a pheasant, some ducks in the water, etc. A blue jay flew to a nearby tree and looked at me, and I looked at him. He flew over to the corner of my bench and looked at me, and I looked at him. And then he ATTACKED ME IN MY FACE and stole my toothpick out of my mouth and flew back to the tree and considered his fine prize. Monster! I was mugged by a blue jay. Ryan
