Thanks for allowing me to join this forum, it really is quite impressive.
I started collecting WW stamps as a child, and carried on intermittently until about 1995 when I moved to Ottawa. At the same time my father had given me his WW collection that he had put together in the 50's. He also had an enormous reserve of Newfoundland Stamps, having lived there all his life.
When I moved to Ottawa I believe my interest must have been re-kindled by the Ian Kimmerly Stamps shop, initially in the Byword Market ( I am wondering now if this was a different shop, it was upstairs on George) but latterly on Sparks. I am still not sure what happened but I went on a buying spree filling in my Newfoundland collection and also participating in his various auctions. In the next 3 years I acquired several Canada collections as well as a large first half of the 20th century Germany collection.
I have just retired and have decided to pull out my stamps, I was quite shocked with the collection, as there is a lot!
I am still formulating my approach, and I believe this forum will be an enormous help and a terrific resource.

What I collect: Used only - Australia, Great Britain, Canada, Ireland, Western Europe, and Scandinavia, from 1900 to date. That keeps me busy. To be honest I am trying to avoid becoming a WW collector.
