Hi All, the top perforation on this downloaded stamp looks a lil odd or weird if you like to call it ... has anyone seen that before and what is the reason behind it do you think?!

The stamp appears to have what appear to be several pulled perforations.

I does look like it! but in your opinion what are the reasons that could have led to this outcome ?

I'm by no means a professional or even think I'm close to knowing what I'm about to say is correct, but it kind of looks like it was double punched when being produced but at the same time it's only the top. Maybe the sheet moved during production. Just a wild guess on my part ☺️

Maybe the sheet moved during production. Just a wild guess on my part ☺️ I should clarify that when I meant by double stamped I was referring to the perforation marks not the picture or anything else but again I really don't know how exactly stamps are printed or if that could be a possibility. This is why I'm here, It's to learn amongst other people in the hobby instead of just relying on the internet. I know you can't always trust what you see on the internet. Lucky for me I now have pro's to ask. Just let me know if I'm getting annoying or guide me to a link or another discussion that I can use as reference. I also want to apologize because I do tend to ramble on a lot. I'm trying to adjust to not having the kids at home anymore, and being home not working with a disability so again if I ramble on too much just tell me to be quiet lol I won't take offense.

Hi All, the top perforation on this downloaded stamp looks a lil odd or weird if you like to call it ... has anyone seen that before and what is the reason behind it do you think?! It looks like someone was in a rush when separating the stamp from its neighbours in the sheet, and was just a bit rough tearing it out. The previously adjacent stamp above it will almost certainly have the extra tags along its lower edge. I am going with careless damage rather than doubled perfs holes. As Steve tomiseksj says " pulled perforations ". Damaged stamp, but nice cork cancel by the way

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

decentguy , Let's just say that, to some of our members, the response to vikingeck 's comment appeared to be flippant. Perhaps we can attribute that to differences in speech from our worldwide membership. Getting back on topic, sadly, pulled perforations are an all too common problem, usually caused by rough handling. I might add that I personally have pulled a perf or two when trying to remove perf holes that had not been fully severed.

The reason it happens can be as easy as a tiny little flaw in the paper. That spot is just a little weaker then the spot it is meant to rip. It is very common.

It just looked weird to me as I have never notice it before but now I have.. Cheers

Now Thats what I call a solid convincing Steve (not like the other thread) ... and it makes lots of sense what you are saying... In that exact spot where they been pulled for each single pull its where the whole chunk of perforation (between two holes) is missing ...
In relation to the other thread... in all honesty lets be fair here That Khj member actually helped me a lot as he pointed out few crucial tips... God Love Him ...
Many Thanks Roni

I can feel and hear the sarcasm there with the cork cancel ... well at least it's a see through one... Sorry you are taking it that way. THAT was NOT Sarcasm , It is a sincere fair comment ... The cancel is nice . I like the US "Fancy" cancels ! Often they are more valuable than the stamp !

Ok in that case my apologies for misunderstanding but hope you know I never meant to sound rude or definitely there was no intention of disrespect that for sure that why I even put that (smiley face) straight after my comment ... You seem like a good man and well-liked by many, there must be many reasons for that and I am sure it also never happened over night and I truly respect that ... Best Regards Roni
