And the answer to the Wednesday Mystery Stamp Identification Challenge is … rednaxela wrote; In 1918, during the Russian Civil War between the "Reds" (Bolsheviks) and the "Whites" (Monarchists/Anti-Bolsheviks), Admiral Kolchak formed an anti-Bolshevik army in West Siberia and declared himself "Regent of All Russia" in November 1918.
Kolchak had risen to become the commander of the Black Sea Fleet during World War I.
What is missing from the answer, is where we place these stamps? I had guessed it correctly, but had never seen this stamp before. I have it under Russia~Siberia~ Admiral kolchak-chita (Would that be correct ?) These were the only stamps I was aware of.

Mystery Stamp Identification Challenge Update;
I made a previous commitment last year to edit the Ireland section of the Colnect database and add the Hibernian catalog information. Since launching the Mystery Stamp Identification Challenge six months ago last October, progress on my work for Colnect has slowed to a trickle. I really need to honor my previous commitment and complete that project, so I am going to pause the full identification game (and other projects) until I complete my promised work for Colnect. I estimate it will take about a month or two. So, tentatively, the 3 day a week game will resume in 6-8 weeks depending on the level of interest. However, in the meantime, I will post one stamp per week and post the answer the following week. The once weekly game will post on Fridays, thus the answer to this week’s challenge will be posted next week.
As there has been some unhappiness and grumbling about submitted answers not being fully cited in the answer posts, in the future I will compose the answer as a country and catalog number and will include a list of members who submitted a correct answer in the order submitted. Every participant will be encouraged to post further information and discuss the stamp issue on the board for all members to read instead of sending their quite interesting knowledge in a private message that only I can see. This will eliminate the need for me to play Solomon and try to decide which of the multiple, overlapping, similar answers to credit and publish.
See you next Friday.

Welcome to the Weekly Mystery Stamp Identification Challenge! Oh here is a toughie, suggested by vikingeck . Warning - this may or may not be listed in all of the major catalogs.
Good luck everyone!Rules; Answer must include a catalog number or similar citation. Naming country of origin is not sufficient, but this rule is waived for stamps that are not listed in the major catalogs (Michel, Gibbons, Yvert, Scott) Answer must be sent in a private message to me, philatelia. Kindly do not post answers on the board. No spoilers or hints please.
If you have a suggestion for a mystery stamp that would be awesome!

Listed by Michel catalogue under Yugoslavia (year 1920, # 143) Newspaper stamp issued for Slovenia (Michel # 113) and overprinted for Carinthia plebiscite (1920). Carinthia was disputed by Austria (Zone B) and the Kingdom of Serbs,Croats and Slovenes (future Yugoslavia,Zone A) The overprint includes the letters KGCA. K is for Koroška (Carinthia) and CA for Cona A (Zone A) According to a number of sources (including Scott) G would stand for Government Commission,which makes little sense. It would rather be G for Glasovanje (Voting) or a derived word Stamps from Austria were overprinted too

Welcome to the weekly Mystery Stamp Identification Challenge! This week is a two part challenge.
NUMBER ONE CHALLENGE;
For Saint Patrick’s Day weekend we have a slightly different spin on the challenge. You must identify this stamp AND provide a stamp depicting the product or some variation of the product his name is associated with. So - JUST FOR FUN - Instead of sending me a private message, for this part of the challenge let’s fill this thread with stamps that depict folks celebrating with this “product” or making this stuff! Enjoy! 🍀
NUMBER TWO CHALLENGE:
This is a regular identify the stamp challenge. This one is a bit easier, so let’s see if we can’t break the group best of 14 answers! Correct answers will be posted next week.
Rules; Answer must include a catalog number or similar citation.

A Texan walks into a pub in Ireland and clears his voice to the crowd of drinkers. He says, “I hear you Irish are a bunch of hard drinkers. I’ll give $500 American dollars to anybody in here who can drink 10 pints of Guinness back-to-back.” The room is quiet, and no one takes up the Texan’s offer. One man even leaves. Thirty minutes later the same gentleman who left shows back up and taps the Texan on the shoulder. “Is your bet still good?” asks the Irishman. The Texan says yes and asks the bartender to line up 10 pints of Guinness. Immediately the Irishman tears into all 10 of the pint glasses, drinking them all back-to-back. The other pub patrons cheer as the Texan sits in amazement. The Texan gives the Irishman the $500 and says, “If ya don’t mind me askin’, where did you go for that 30 minutes you were gone?” The Irishman replies, “Oh… I had to go to the pub down the street to see if I could do it first.”

What does a rat have to do with Guinness?
Well, there is what I hope is merely an urban legend that when Guinness cleaned out its vats for the first time in years, there were lots of dead rats.
When the vats were cleaned, drinkers thought the beer just did not taste the same. Rats were the secret ingredient.
The Boston-based punk band Dropkick Murphys did a song called "Good Rats".
"Come on all you Good Rats, we'll send you to heaven You'll find the Pearly Gates in the froth and the foam Cause in these vats you've made quite a creation A potion that turned the Guinness to gold!"

René renden Rene, if you don’t have time, simply don’t participate! greaden - ewwwwwwwwww gross Folks I was just trying to provide a fun diversion for our group and toss in something lighthearted for St. Patrick’s Day. Big freakin’ mistake!
This is only a silly GAME - complaints and negative comments spoils the fun, so why bother?
Admin was right when he wrote “Damned if you do, damned if you don’t! I surrender.” When the negative comments and complaints outnumber the positive feedback and/or likes, it’s time to give it up. If anyone wants to take over this you are welcome to it but I’ve had enough “fun”. There are only 5 or 6 people who participate regularly, so no big loss.

I did not mean to alarm or disgust with the rat story. I associate Guinness and St Pat's celebrations with exuberant Dropkick Murphys' tunes, and was looking for a way to bring that celebratory element into this conversation.

Apologies if I took it the wrong way. I completely misinterpreted your post as a slam and dislike of the thread topic. The negative comments and messages I receive about this game thread far exceed the positive feedback so I wrongly lumped yours in with the rest of the nay-sayers, nitpickers and complainers. Examples “- It’s too easy, that one is too hard, that’s not a stamp, that’s not in my catalog, you need to do this less often, you should do this every day, you need to give more clues, the prizes aren’t good enough, we don’t need prizes, you didn’t use my information, you forgot my name, you spelled that wrong, why didn’t you use this one? you show too much of the stamp, you just did that country,…” etc. etc. etc. Hey it gets to ya, let me tell you. Awwww enough already. Where’s the Jamesons? Time for an Irish coffee … ahhhhhhh that’s better! lol but one’s my limit.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! We Irish have survived famine, invaders and rats in the beer so we can survive the whiners, complainers and idjits. The game is still on, but party poopers will be drop kicked out the door. Erin Go Bragh!

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I have struggled to come up with something stamp related in my collection as a go along with the Ireland Scott 172 Arthur Guinness stamp. Today on my Facebook feed I saw this rather rare plate shared by an antique dealer friend. It is a 1950's era Willow pattern plate with a cute twist. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
