.......I forgot to mention that all packets/letters will be brightened up by the addition of the limited edition Cinderella which was sent to the 200 families of our village on cover. Only 250 copies were produced. Aren't you lucky !!

Packets to brightonpete , ameis33 , norsten , cjoprey and salentin all left these shores on Sunday. Tomorrow those to Mrs Beryllium Guy and cursus will be going too. I saved the best until last !! The nice Mystery lot for renden is almost ready and will leave on Thursday. I hope he will not be disappointed and can find something for his collection. If not, he can always sell it for a profit !!! It was a lot of fun putting it together. That's about the sum of my stamp activity as work once again took over. Have a good week everyone. Londonbus1

I am in the middle of a discussion on Facebook with another collector of GB Exhibition items. I think I may have made a DISCOVERY not known before !!! Yet not difficult to see ! In 2016 I won a special one-off item auction at the 1st Cinderella Stamp Congress in London. The prize was 5 half panes of the 1912 'Ideal Stamp' from the Grover Archives which had been discovered abandoned a few months previously. All 5 blocks of 60 had mock Plate Numbers in the bottom margin. The Catalogues do not know what these stand for and I have not heard it discussed elsewhere. You can see a Plate Number on this half pane which was the prize in one of my Newsletter Giveaways won by firstfrog2013 . It is assumed that the numbers are for the show dates 10-October and 12-1912. I have only now seen during my discussion on Facebook that the letters are S,T,A,M,P !!! Well, it's kind of a discovery, isn't it ? Grant me my moment of glory I might be the only one alive with a complete set of 'Plate' numbers ! (They don't exist on each sheet) Londonbus1.......off to bed ! Steve ( tomiseksj ) just forwarded an email to me that landed in the Stamp Forum inbox. As I asked in my post (above)......my moment of glory has been granted !! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Dear Michael, We corresponded a while ago and. indeed, I sold you some exhibition souvenir material via eBay. I've been retired for a few years now and your email address, if I ever saved it, has long since disappeared from my contacts list. This is Graham Wilson (as in the BSE Catalogue I co-edit with Glenn Morgan). I would be pleased to get back in touch with you, so if you could respond to this email, that would be great. The main reason for writing was to thank you for solving the mystery of the Control Numbers at the bottom of the Ideal Stamp sheets... STAMP... what a Eureka Moment that must have been. I shared your revelation with Glenn and he was surprised that, what must have been a private joke among the organisers, should remain undetected for so long. Kind regards, Graham Wilson" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Londonbus1.......

I also envy the cursus trips to the market......I think he knows that anyway !! One day........... I have spent the morning packing and sealing packets ready for sending when the Lockdown finishes (more or less) this coming week. Packets to: norsten , cjoprey , brightonpete , ameis33 , salentin , (Mrs) Beryllium Guy , cursus and renden will all be going out this week now that the Postal service has removed their fingers from 'you know where' !! Seriously though, the Coronavirus would like to apologize to all of you for the delay. With all this in mind, I have been destroying very expensive Schaubek pages and albums which will be re-cycled. With the advent and popularity of making ones own pages in our hobby, the need for these pages, and indeed the need for pages in Stamp shops everywhere, is minimal if not non-existent. So I am clearing space in my stamp areas and saying goodbye to what once was. I am now on to the Czech Republic. Then Great Britain. But is it still 'Great' ? I noticed that no one has posted any Auction items up yet. Mmmmmmm Londonbus1

When I want to upload more than one image I click on BBCode at the bottom of the page. This will allow you to upload multiple images. The links will all land consecutively so if you wish to put one of the links into another place in your post you can simply move. Use the 'review' tab to check you have moved/are moving the correct image. If my aggregate image size is too big, as has happened on one or two occasions, the system will tell you and you won't be able to upload more. Steve ( tomiseksj) is better equipped to tell you more if needs be. Londonbus1

During the Zoom meeting last Saturday my little 'Show and Tell' item was the 2010 Reproduction £1 PUC stamp in Blue, the so-called 'Guildhall Printing'. One of the things I remember about that visit to the Guildhall was the high security and no cameras or phones were allowed in, and yes, everyone was scanned and searched. I recall one guy sneaked his mobile phone in and whilst taking pictures was immediately taken to the entrance and evicted !!!!! However, at least one Stamp Magazine was allowed in to cover the event and the pictures here, courtesy of Glenn Morgan's 'Stampprinters' will give a better idea about the printing of this item ( stanley64, Beryllium Guy, vikingeck ). Glenn used this in a 2010 edition and his text will show that none of these blocks of 4 would be available to the public. The lottery for 50 blocks in Presentation packs came early in 2011. Great pictures....take a look. Scroll now past the first juicy items to the second page. www.stampprinters.info/DS18.pdfI got number 30 !! (From 2011, my lucky number !!)

Whilst there is an interesting item pertaining to KGV on the forum what better time to recommend this excellent work by Douglas Muir. 'George V and the GPO...stamps, conflict and creativity'. Issued to coincide with 'London 2010, A Festival of Stamps', produced by the British Postal Museum & Archive. Some great stories about the collector King as well as great history and superb images. A must for any collector of KGV material.

This is an unadopted design for the 1929 PUC £1 stamp of Great Britain by a Miss E.M.Jackman who was working at the time with Bradbury Wilkinson. I have no idea if any have been on the market or if the one shown by Mark is an original or not. It could well be a reproduction. mark1....Can I ask how you came by it ?

hijabihomegirl.........I have never heard of Twitch but am looking forward to your pics. Today I got the news that Cinderella Stamp Club auction did take place under restrictions and that I won 5 of the 10 items I bid on including Wallerstein's Catalogue of Israel & Palestine Revenues which I have been after for years !! A happy chappy except I won't see it until next year when (hopefully) I will get to visit my homeland !! I also won Mosbaughs catalogue of Red Cross labels, 22 GB Cypher Labels (1743-1904), 600 Canadian 'Societe de St.Jean Baptiste' labels and a 1934 APEX Rocket Post Cover (6/6/34). Not much real stamping but some research into difficult items and some notes down on a future Newsletter article. Family have kept me busy otherwise. The need to retire is now urgent !!!! Londonbus1

A Stanley Gibbons colour guide with the 'Colour Chart' labels just now sold on eBay for £115. Items like these are quite scarce in good condition and don't come up to auction every day. Colours are great fun, comparing the different catalogues is funny and oft times impossible. Also, I don't know about other countries but Great Britain and here in Israel the colours are decided by the Postal Services. For those who collect Machins, the names of the issue colour are inscribed on each sheet in the margin and rarely, if ever, correspond with Gibbons. Or should I say, Gibbons rarely correspond with the Imprint, they change it. So what's the point ? Just enjoy the colours.

Nice guy, I liked him and his family were lovely. I hope one day he will come back. In the meantime here are a couple of covers from my 'Grumpy Old Man' days. In these days of no school and 'Zoom' learning, I will show you an item from 1953 commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Hebrew Teachers' Association and the 'Honor your Teacher Project' from that year. (My daughter, a teacher, would have liked that !). Shown is only one design from the set of three, the Woman teacher (how fitting). The Light Brown-type colour was the correct shade for this stamp and the Greyish shade was the colour for another design in the set. These may be colour trials although Imperfs do exist. Need to do more research on that. Designed by M & G Shamir. Printed in sheets of 5x6 in two panes of 5x3 separated by a plain gutter. Perf 11½. watermarked paper.

Beryllium Guy....certainly an error of spelling which, as you can see, was corrected in the chosen design. I got this item as a 'Proof' but as the design is different from the one chosen it may well have been an additional (rejected ) design. I did some checking a while back but did not come up with a positive answer. So still looking. All good fun.

Here's a stamp 'fan' of Specimen inks used by Harrison & sons. Not exactly a colour guide (unless there are others) but quite fitting nonetheless. The design of the labels has been seen on Exhibition material and other ephemera. the labels can also be found unused.
