I'm from small town in Slavonia region called Požega (in Yugoslavia it was Slavonska Požega because there is town in Serbia with the same name)
I like to see this kind of stuff because it's rare to find somebody who collects meter stamps and "sticky labels" in Croatia.
I would like to see anything tied to Požega and to 1941.-1991. Croatian stamps. I have Croatian catalogue so if somebody needs some information about typical errors or something I hope I can help.

Here are a few of my favourite Croatian stamps I have in my collection from the period shortly after the breakup of Yugoslavia. A couple of them have hyperinflation face values, up to 10,000 dinar. I'll go through my pile and see what I can post for stamps from the 1941-45 era. Ryan

OK, I know it's a little off topic in a way but it's not really- I don't have any foreign (non-USA) stamps to share but I do wish to contribute to world history and a piece of Yugoslavian history. I have a WWII. officers bayonet from Yugoslavia. It's like a German K98 because after the Nazi's got run out the Allies (Yugoslavian Armories) just cranked their own stuff out on the German presses but put their own marks on them. Wanna see it? It's not the best pic though...lol What does this say? (assuming you speak the native language?) OK last image I promise...

Bayonet is very nice piece! I wasn't into history before and now I regret it. Military stuff here is too pricey so I can't afford it but it's very interesting to me. I'm thinking about making some videos about collectiong and stamps when I learn more so every information and picture is valuable and appreciated. Writings are on cyrillic, it's used in Serbia, in Croatia we use latin writing. People in Yougoslavia used both cyrilic and latin, as you can se on this picture: I don't know how to read cyrilic but my parents do so they say that writing is: PREDUZEĆE, or company in english (as firm, not people) Ryan - looking forward to see some more, I'll take some pictures later, my scanner is broken

In school I was teaching myself Latin because I like to pour over extremely old texts and a lot of them are in Latin, So I asked my English teacher why Latin wasn't taught in Schools anymore? She told me that Latin is a dead language? WHAT?? Well then, if it's a dead language then why are countries still speaking it? Perhaps she meant something else but I don't know what?

I was not accurate enough, it's alphabet, not language... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaj%27s_Latin_alphabetWe use Croatian language (it's similar to Serbian, Bosnian...), we use all leters of english alphabet without w, y, q and add letters like č, ć, ž, dž (I don't know if you even see it ) latin language is still used (like in botany and medicine) for terms because all nations have different words for same thing latin is taught in Croatia for 1 or 2 years if you go to gymnasium, and that's just to prepare you if you go to faculty like medicine EDIT: I found on some Croatian forum that Preduzeće xy was type of a cover up, weapons were made by few companies but they did not put full names until 1980.

ty for scans On Cinderella is Stjepan Freiherr Sarkotić von Lovćen I couldn't guess it in 1000 years without google Never heard of that guy, sad thing is that I know more about America or France than Croatia historically speaking, our school system sucks... and political situation was always complicated, and sadly it still is... we fought wars for everyone, never for us this NDH stamp is from exile, could not find it in Scott or Michel catalogue, I think exile is in newer editions of Croatian catalogues, now I don't have money to buy it but soon it will be mine i've already said that my scanner is out of order but I took some pics with my mobile phone, they are on their way!

year|| catalogue number and price for mint and used for whole set
red font is for errors or something that I have to look into (first row - overprint is moved, second row - stamp has letter R stamped on backside and I don't know why??)

I thought of trying to Google it but how do you type in Cyrillic? Anyway this is what the site says - "Preduzece 44"(It refers to the site where it was refurbished. E.g."Preduzece 44" stands for "Institute 44"-Kragujevac, Serbia-the location of Zastava Arms)

You let the computer do it for you! ha ha Here's a link to the Google Language translation for "preduzece", written in Latin script. translate.google.com/#sr/en/preduzeceDouble click the Cyrillic word to highlight it, then right click on that highlighted word and you might get an option to search that word (that's how it works for me when using Google Chrome). That gets me a bazillion hits so then add the "44" to the search and enclose it in quotes. Other browsers undoubtedly handle things differently, but you could highlight and copy the Cyrillic word and paste it into Google to search that way. Ryan

I don't have anything very uncommon in my 1941-45 collection - almost everything is minimum catalogue value! This semi-postal series is available in two different sets of colours, and the one I have comes from a souvenir sheet, so it's actually the less common of the two sets. I don't have the regular set, though. I also have another semi-postal set that does have catalogue values that are at least a bit above minimum, but it has had the gum soaked off of the stamps. It looks like the stamps were probably all stuck to each other because some of them have some damage to the design, missing small amounts of ink. Oh well. Ryan

3 Minisheets 2008 All 3 represent the tax incurred by Croatia to facilitate carriage of my Registration labels and Meter Imressions, (to Western Australia) all 3 on 1 parcel. This one the Postman left his fingerprints all over it.

I did not know that they were classified as Cinderellas, that explains a lot . I'll still try to find them all, they are some pretty expensive ones. Hope I can find more information about them. Heard some stories but can't remember everything or confirm them

Ryan I've never seen this catalogues, they must be Serbian (for second catalogue I'm 100% sure ) This is the one I use: [Removed broken image link] you can find all stamps (+ some errors and additional information), postal cards and FDC signets periods are SHS (1918 - 1919), NDH (1941 - 1945), Republic of Croatia (1991 - 2003) and Serbian ocupation (1993 - 1997)

(I do not have this one) I know that flowers and birds are common, I'll try to find some prices and picture of this "exile stamps" on Croatian auction site, I found one with Ante Pavelić and lowest price was about 50 kunas (it's about 9 USD) In my catalogue there are just 2 pages about this local issued stamps for NDH, they must be more info in newer versions
