I wonder how common those 1982 Eucalyptus booklet stamps were - I have masses of modern Australian kiloware but that's certainly an issue I almost never come across.

I have 1 used, and never seen one on cover. Not sure how I come across my strip. Just found in a Hagner after organising my Oz to mount. There are issued dotted throughout the Australian Catalogue, that show similar scarcity, The "Little Grebe" 20c in the bird series, I must have 500 of them.

I wonder how common those 1982 Eucalyptus booklet stamps were - I have masses of modern Australian kiloware but that's certainly an issue I almost never come across. Ryan The stamps were printed photogravure by John Enschede en zonen, Haarlem, Holland. Harrison's unwatermarked paper, incorporating Luminescence. This was the first time in 20 years that Australian Stamps were produced outside Australia. In 60c and $1 booklets Issued in only vending machine booklets each booklet contained a single pane of stamps 60c=2x1c, 2x2c, 2x27c $1 = 2x1c,2x2c, 1x3c, 1x10c, 3x27c The 2c (Aboriginal : "Gungurru") is regarded as one of the most beautiful flowering Eucalypts Native of Western Australia, and an endangered species. The 10c "Tasmanian Blue Gum" One of the fastest growing trees in the world.

Can members assist with an ID of the Postmark please? US Zip codes are grouped according to the first three digits, that's why all you have on your postmark is "945". Big cities will hog up the entire batch from xxx01 to xxx99 - smaller cities generally get the lowest numbers (xxx01, xxx02, etc) and after their share is used up, little towns get numbered in the town's (mostly) alphabetical order. In your case, 945xx is Oakland, CA. See the Wikipedia list of ZIP code prefixes for a complete listing. This particular case, however, is a bit different. 945xx is actually metropolitan Oakland. all the suburbs from Alameda 94501 to Yountville 94599. Oakland proper is 946xx. Ryan
