I cannot find a catalog overprinted version of the Human Rights issue with an overprint that includes Bangladesh. I have searched Scott, Colnect, and stampworld.

Al, ( angore ) Scott notes that various stamps from Pakistan were handstamped locally for use in Bangladesh from March 26, 1971 until April 30, 1973. An article in the April 2013 issue of The American Philatelist titled "Bangladesh Overprints" states that initial post office announcement appeared December 19, 1971. That article also notes that "a wide range of forgeries exist to plague the collector."

Unfortunately, these overprints exist in many hundreds (probably thousands) of varieties -- as they were local overprints on whatever stock stamps they had.
What's odd/interesting, is that the stamp is late 1950s, while the overprints weren't "authorized" until the early 1970s. While I guess it's possible some post office might have had some 13 year old commemoratives sitting in a drawer, it would certainly not be the norm. I remember one post office in the US still had some 1976 US Bicentennial S/S's in the early 1990s.

Thanks, @tomisek Steve, where is the notation? My 2017 Scott does not mention it with below the listing. I will look for the article. @ khj Back in 1970 rural post offices in Alabana, many had old issues such as the 1938 Presidential Series. In those days, there was no disposal policy. We drove around seeing what old stamps they had - mostly partial panes. There was during my second era of collecting.

angore , The note appears at the beginning of the Bangladesh section in my 2009 catalog. I assume it has continued in subsequent years' catalogs. Here is another short article by the author who wrote the article in The American Philatelist.

I see it now. There were a lot of human rights issues in Bangladesh so thought it was related to that so I was just looking for one stamp.
