I found this mysterious object in my Japan "box". No country name, no value and no watermark. Based on the characters and the chrysanthemum symbol, it should be Japanese. A Cinderella or a jewelry pendant?

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

scub, this is a Japanese revenue stamp. Up until several weeks ago I had the Hasegawa Revenue catalogue here at home but I since returned it to the ISJP philatelic library, so I am unable to tell you what this revenue stamp was used for or when it was issued but, yes, it is from Japan.

scub, The Forbin catalog indicates that it is a tobacco revenue from 1883.
