I belong to a number of Philatelic organizations such as APS AAPE ATA SCC CFSC FPH and have been collecting stamps for more than 30 years, with a particular interest in Iceland. I also enjoy exhibiting as it helps me to learn more in depth about what I am collecting and thus I also write articles as that helps me to improve my exhibits. Also published a Philatelic book (414 pages) in 2022. Currently I am also the show/exhibit chair for an annual stamp show and editor of our club newsletter. I have exhibited at more than a dozen stamp shows around the U.S., as well as in Iceland, Norway and Canada. I look forward to seeing what I can learn from others, as there appears to be considerable information on this site.

Just trying to figure out how to reply to posts and add some scans As far as adding images is concerned, take a look at these two threads from our " Frequently asked questions about using the forum" board. Adding Images to Forum Posts - an overview of the three different methods you can use to add images. Using TSF Image Host - instructions for using an image host specific to The Stamp Forum. This ensures that images will stay with the forum, whereas using other sites could cause image links to be broken if those sites close / change names / hold you to ransom like Photobucket / whatever else might befall us ... Welcome to TSF! Ryan

My trip to Winnipeg in 2013, to exhibit at the Royal show was a huge success, as I discovered while there that the Winnipeg University Library has an entire room dedicated to books, newspapers and information on Iceland!

Yes, there are almost as many Icelanders in Manitoba as there are in Iceland! I'm in Alberta, we don't have as many of them out here (I am part Norwegian, though, so that's almost like an Icelander) but we do have the Stephan G. Stephansson House not too far away from where my parents grew up in west central Alberta. Every summer there's an Icelandic Day celebrated there. Stephansson House in Markerville, ABRyan

Welcome!
Speaking of Icelanders in North America, North of Winnipeg, on the shores of lake Winnipeg, is Hecla Island, which boasts a a vintage Icelandic village from one of the original settlements of Icelandic migrants to Canada. We toured it on a camping trip several years ago and it was awesome. Something for your next trip north. 🙂
I feel bad that I missed your exhibit at the Royal in Winnipeg. Would have loved to see it. I made the 6 hour drive from Saskatchewan for stamps a few times, but missed that show.
