Thanks for your post, scub, and for your initial response, franoise. I agree that they could be revenue stamps, but I am not sure. What I can say is that #1 has the chrysanthemum in the design, so surely from Japan, but I am less sure about the others. Let's try tagging some other members who may be able to tell us more: Linda khj unechan darkormex Philatarium

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

scub the first one is an 1874 Japan silkworm egg tax revenue found using Stamp Finder App. Google image search suggests the second one is Japanese too and is a silk tax stamp from 1877. The 3rd one could be a Japanese art seal based on Google Image search. It does not appear to be an actual stamp or Cinderella.

Thanks Linda I have another question about #3 You say it's Unreadable, do you mean that it's too unclear or is the picture upside down or is it not Japanese? Maybe a cut out name or company seal.

3#: By unreadable, I mean that there is no way of arranging these written symbols to make semantic sense in any language I know of. In whatever direction I read, or in whatever way I decompose the characters, nothing meanginful shows up. 上君羊 イ須ク マ七カ ? 君羊 can be fused as 群. And the 七カ (bottom right corner) could actually be 廿 if seen as one character. But I cannot make sense of any of these combinations.

hdm1950 -- Sorry, you were right about the year. Meji 7 = 1874.
