Wow - the orange spray sounds tricky to work with. Yours look pretty darn good considering all the risk factors!
Mostly, I’m leaving mine on paper because of those pesky allergies I mentioned. But stamps on boxes or too close together are problematic. I’ve started peeling the layers of the paper to thin the bulk on the ones on boxes, but the others?
I’ve come across a very, rare few that were removed and look absolutely flawless. I wonder how they did it?

... how do the stamps compare on paper and off appearance wise? I’ve read that the paper color and surface of the stamp looks different when pure citrus is used. The ones on paper in the pics above look much brighter and whiter, but they are not side by side comparisons. Do they look the same or different to you? ... U.S. self-adhesives no longer appear to be printed on paper but rather on some type of plasticized material that is translucent. The composite below shows two copies of Scott 5664 that I had removed from covers using Pure Citrus. The stamps in the upper half of the image were scanned on a black background at 600 dpi with no image manipulation. I believe that the mottled appearance is caused by varying thicknesses of the translucent material. The stamps in the lower image were scanned using the same parameters but a white background was placed behind the right-most stamp. Note the significant difference in appearance attributable to the background against which the stamps are viewed.

It's an exciting week for U.S. modern enthusiasts like myself: The issue dates and cities have been announced for the first few stamps of 2023! I am looking forward to making FDCs for at least half of these issues.

I save most older postage from envelopes and not sure what I want to do with them. I would like to just give them away.

angore , where I have 3 or more dupes, one will go into my 2000 stamps giveaway, and others will go up for sale on Colnect or, if I don't have it in my collection, I will save a copy for later mounting. Some covers I save as is and don't remove the stamps. The state birds and bicentennial state flags are an ongoing project to obtain a used copy of each to fill the pages in my Minuteman album.

Normally I expect to find new plate numbers in a multistamp set on the same stamp - I mean same design, different number. I just ran into a case where the plate number shifted to a different design. I get used to watching for the plate number on certain designs, you know what I mean? Anyways, these presorted first class star numbers surprised me. I can’t think multi design set where the number has jumped to a different design, can you? The flag and four seasons issue from 2013 - 2014 number appeared on different designs, but those were different printings by different companies with different die cuts. How sneaky!

A recent hoard of Christmas seals and the like included this double-sided pane of the 2012 USA Forever Christmas stamp, combined face value today $10.08, apparently mistaken as a Christmas seal

Posta Ingettes Great Presidents I purchased this pack years ago. They may not appeal to everyone but I like them. They came with the original stamps. Lombardo Mint was founded by an Italian, Orazio Lombardi who moved to Canada. At one point the company was involved in the engraving and cutting of dies for other mints. Now part of Mississauga Mint, Canada.

I have actually stopped using a lot of older stamps for postage on mailings as it seems to be a 'tip off". a pity as I have many many dollars at face value. Now I make it looks as plain and uninteresting as possible

A new issue that I LOVE LOVE LOVE! Visually striking AND educational. Well done United States Postal Service and the Stamp Advisory Committee for picking this topic.

Great issues indeed; they certainly capture one's imagination and are likely candidates to attract new collectors to the hobby (both young and old).
The first-day launch and ceremonies were part of this year's Great American Stamp Show as seen here, To be honest though, I must admit, I initially mis-read the blue-button label ;-) Have fun and happy collecting!

Instead of putting another Legends of Hollywood next to Audrey Hepburn (2002), I placed this La Florida (2013) sheet next to her. In a way, they complement each other.

Found this one in Grandpa's collection. By now I know, every time he stored any stamps this way, it was more valuable then others. For me, as a newbie, everything is sounds gibberish. So, I was hoping you guys can help me understand what does error & normal, yellow omitted mean. (btw, Grandpa also had a block of 6 in his collection he send to a certification - have not found it yet, but it was cool to see an actual certificate confirming it was a genuine, unhinged, mint block of six (never vallued).

Just a normal Scott #1271 Value : 20c The error stamp is missing "Yellow omitted" means just that, the yellow printing ink is missing. Just be aware on some stamps, colours or "gold" can be removed chemically Scammers are everywhere.

Sorry if I'm writing in wrong thread, but have one question. Found 2 boxes of used prexie stamps - from #804 to #840. I guess those are so-called kiloware stamps? Really have no idea what to do with them - thousands all together. Probably, will sell them in bulk, but don't even know the market value. Any help will be appreciated.

USPS has released images and information for some of the stamps they plan to release in 2025. (Link to press release is here.) I see a few issues that I'm interested in, including a Love stamp featuring Keith Haring's work (I've always thought his art would look great on a stamp), a Black Heritage stamp for the great pianist and arranger Allen Toussaint, a new issue in the ongoing series of non-machinable surcharge rate butterfly stamps (last updated in 2021; the new one technically features a Luna moth), and a stamp for Betty White. A good start!
