Ryan Fabulous, Ryan. Opening and closing dates, Postmasters. Wow. Only blank space is population, but I'll put it down to < 1,000 Not sure if it was here or Hornepayne in Ontario, I saw 48 Acres or river front land for $50,000 If I was a lot, lot younger, I'd be emigrating. Rod you may get relief from me.The centennial series was the point I became disinterested in Canada post.To me a most over used design that should have ended with the first release. The addition of extra values and paper, gums, perfs, taggings, just an over used design. I believe somewhere I saw it amounted to over six hundred separate collectible varieties. If that's not over the top I don't know what would discourage a collector.I'm sure one area I'll never finish just because it holds no interest to me.I was glad when it was replaced with new designs.

That's a good one, Frog - I have a fair-sized collection of MNH Canada imperf pairs, over 70 of them, but that Centennial pair is one I haven't come across yet. Ryan

Ryan,I have another strip of the eight cent if you would like it.Just say yes and I'll send it along. I'm already set up with the Caricature coil pairs, thanks very much - it's the Centennial pair that I was ogling! ha ha For those wondering about the mix of perf and imperf on Frog's 8 cent strip, the perforator for modern Canadian coil stamps would hit 12 stamps at a time. On occasion, it would fail to fire and you'd end up with a strip of 13 imperf between stamps. Dealers / collectors like imperf pairs so almost all of them have been cut up, but once in a long while you'll see an intact strip of 13, and once in an equally long while you'll see something like Frog has, from the end of the imperf strip - a nice mix of perf and imperf. Here's an image nabbed from a Sparks Auctions listing showing a still-intact strip of 13. Ryan

Thanks guys for the heads up on that imperf. I don't as a rule normally pay attention to the CV on my stamps.Upon investigation it might be the HB variety which in my 2012 Unitrade is listed Nh at $4000. Guess this $65 was well spent. I have another collection on it's way hope that one too is just as nice.

1977 Definitives. These were an enjoyable challenge, Thanks to William Steiner for making it practical. I have added Sc#723c on Page 18, as Mr. Steiner put the space for this stamp many pages hence? one of his rare flaws. (Nightmares of the Stanley Gibbons methodology) This set makes it easy for young collectors to see the difference between Lithographed and engraved, under the loupe. and Photogravure and engraved (Perf 13 x 13½) Steiner Page 17 Steiner Page 18

Be sure to check your $2 Kluane stamps under a loupe, Rodney - there's a huge catalogue price for doubled black printing ($500?? I forget) and if my luck is any indication, they aren't really that rare (nor are they worth that much, in that case). I've found 4 of them already! Here are the two with the strongest doubled impressions - perhaps the catalogue is referring to something else, I don't know, but as I read it, this is what to look for. Ryan

Ryan The example in Unitrade looks like this and the catalog price for Fine Used is $1250. But for that price, I'm sure the buyer would like something that is easily visible. But your copies may sell for a bit less ...
