I am suffering from "Catalogue burn out" If any members could assist with the ID (Scott) of any one of these, it shall be appreciated. Numbered 1-9 Left to Right, top to bottom. Aside: I just bid on two lots of Vietnam (Pages of stamps) on Ebay. I placed my bid of 99c on each page of stamps, and went to bed. I assumed I would lose, and the winning bid to be $5-$15 Well, I did lose, the winning bid on each was $1.04 You gotta laugh sometimes........

NLF = National Liberation Front = Vietcong (Viet Comm) For those who don't have a catalogue that lists these NLF stamps, you can find a complete list of them online at this site. There is also a full colour album with good English accompanying text, available as a .PDF download here. Ryan

Catalogue blindness has struck, seeking assistance from members to Identify these rascals. 2Xu is Scott 432 lookalike. (Nth Vietnam) I believe the top row are, from left to right, South Vietnam Scott 322, 330 and 458. As for the North Vietnam stamp, I think the note in Scott may be in error and that #433 has a 2Xu denomination rather than 12Xu (otherwise there would be two 12Xu stamps in that 3-stamp series).

Phew! thanks Steve, danged if I could find them.
Accept your suggstion, of a Scott error. two points, it is common for Vietnam to have multiple stamps in sets, each of the same value. I would have thought Scott would have mentioned "orange" in the description.
Your help very much appreciated, nearly finished mounting Vietnam.

Vietnam : Ebay. Golly! thought I'd see what I could pick up with missing issues from sets I have. The prices are hardly believable, the overprinted postage due set I posted earlier $40 ! (scott 2009 =CV $7) Singletons $2 each, modern sets $17 Do people actually pay these prices? I have watched a number of lots and none seem to sell I came away with rather a bad taste feeling. The last lot I bought locally was 1500 Vietnam for $17 (including the postage dues, 2 sets)
I'll have to make up some Hagners duplicates and whack them on ebay for 99c and test the water.

12xu, Guarcinia mangostana. (Fruit salad on a twig ) I can get mangosteen juice at the Asian markets in town. Very tasty, not too strong in flavour (which can be a dangerous thing, because then I always end up drinking two cans at a sitting instead of only one). Ryan

The peel comes off like wet cardboard, and you have these virginal white fleshy segments, that just explode on the tongue, I am salivating just thinking of it. Only good in small amounts. Apparently two types, Northern Thai variety the pinnacle.

The Internet age, is a veritable blessing for Philately. Have a look at this, FREE and I never thought there would be a better option for cataloguing other than Mr. William Steiner. Steiner still has the beauty of linking Stamp Issues to Catalogue, that is hard to beat. This may encourage me to purchase a laser colour printer, Super Stuff. See more big bugs......... thestampforum.boards.net/post/16593RyanI note you recommended that album download before, I cannot locate the prev album *.pdf yet I seemed to have visited. The Wikipedia article says the people of Hong Kong name this bug the "snake's head moth" because of the shape of those wing tips. Look further up on this thread - my first post in the thread contained a link to album. Your link had a slightly different URL but I don't immediately see a difference between the two files - perhaps they have corrected an error or something like that. The other link I provided (list of National Liberation Front stamps) has since died but can be retrieved via the Internet Archive. Ryan

Four issues from North Vietnam, immediately after partition, where old Indochina stock from the early 1940's was used and overprinted.
