Tonight's items are two new CDS postmarks [Moderator edit - image links are broken and irretrievable]Tunbridge Wells Shrewsbury What these items show is not the scarcity of the postmarks, but the fact that they are often encountered on the higher value stamps It is this fact that will often mean that these items can be difficult to find for a collection Allan

Once again, everything to this point is now listed in the database.
Not a great deal added today as I had some electric work to do in the house and I think this may be continued tomorrow ... so we will see what tomorrow brings ..
There are now over 16,400 entries and over 13,700 of these are illustrated, (83.6%)
Thanks to all who have added items here for addition
GBU all ... Allan

I think the name on zipper's envelope is probably Miss Cordelia Lopes, a daughter of Henry Lopes, 1st Baron Ludlow, a British judge. His wife was also named Cordelia.

I believe the database is lacking an image of Tooting S.W. Here is one dated Dec 4, 1907:

Pushing the Database boundaries? Absolutely not .... This was part of the reason that the listings were split into operational marks and special postmarks ... All these now listed in the database ... thanks ... Allan

Tonights featured item is Honley, Yorkshire [Moderator edit - image link is broken and unretrievable]Until today, I had no idea this even existed, but it is now added to the database. The details for the office are as follows .. Fifth Clause Post under Huddersfield 1803 Penny Post Office by 1838 Money Order Office 6 August 1852 Savings Bank 16 September 1861 Telegraph Office 1870. Code used HKY Under Holmfirth 15 January 2001 Moved to Nisa Store as PO Local 24 October 2014 ------------------------------------ A number of those awaiting pictures have now had the gaps filled but there are still 3,610 still to find ..... Most other areas continue to grow, including the area on my hard drive with scans stored awaiting checking .... so I will not run out of work anytime soon ... Hopefully, we are keeping the interest going on this topic and those reading will be inspired to add an item (or two) Allan

If you can tell, my mounted collection of QV Jubilees has been a hotbed of postmark fun. Not sure why the lone mint one is the 4.5d. Except that I love the colors/design.

rod222 .... thanks As I have just added this, I thought another little bit of information may be useful as the two now in the database are close date-wise ... [Moderator edit - image links are broken and unretrievable]As can be seen the difference is that the latest entry has the time at the top. Circa this time period, it was common practice for first class mail to go through a machine with the time at the top and second class to have the top section empty or with a dash / bar as shown Printed paper rates etc would be treated as the lower class of mail when put through the cancellation machines .... Regards ... Allan
