Wow, a £1 Victoria - you're moving up in the world, Zipper! (says the guy digging through a 1/2 lb. box of old musty Nigerian stamps ....)

Bought the 10 shilling and the 1 pound together. Both are faulty, so I got a fabulous deal.

Thanks, Jack. I've never tried to clean a stamp, but I thought it might help in this case.

I agree with Jack, wait for Allan's advice. That still wont stop me from giving a little advice. If you were ever to give it a bath make sure it is with cool water. Warm water will make things worse. The oils in the cancel will seep further into the paper. Oils are acidic so you might try using a mild soap which is slightly base.

Sorry I have not posted on here in a while ... been busy with real life family issues ...
The database continues to expand with updates being made to a great number of entries since my last post and and new entries added to expand the listings.
There are now over 16,850 postmark texts entered with well over 84 percent of these now illustrated
Details have been added for some post offices giving the history details and these are generally on the earliest entry for a given place name. If you require the details added for any other post office, I will search out the information and add it in ... just let me know ...
I am still working through a vast number of items that I have stored on my hard drive, so there will be more updates as this moves forward
Now going to read what else has been posted on site before I push on with the updates ...

Good strikes of the numeral postmarks, both as stand alone numbers and as duplex marks were always going to be one of the big areas that would take some time to illustrate ... [Moderator edit - image link is broken and irretrievable]475 of Loughborough now added to the listing Shown here as a very nice strike ...
