Œuvres de la Somme dévastée (Work for the Devastated Somme) was a charity set up in July 1917 for the war ravaged regions of France. These Cinderellas showing the devastation were issued in booklets of 12 stamps and were available in three colours: red, blue or brown. A block of six stamps in brown is shown below. The late Ron Lafrenière, (cindycan2 on this forum and much missed) mentions these stamps in his excellent book Delandre and the Bonne Année 1920 Stamps. He suggests that, at the very least, Delandre falsely claimed to act for the organisation and that he may even have been involved in producing the stamps.

I found these recently and thought they'd go together nicely with the other series of 'Commune Libre de Montmartre' stamps shown previously in this thread. There may be more but I only found these two colours. Now I need to do some research !! Londonbus1

Paris Day 14th July 1916 (Bastille Day)Okay, i have to admit that this isn't actually a stamp rather it is a cardboard pin badge. But it could readily be added to a Paris World War I display or Cinderella collection as a related piece of ephemera. Printed by J Barreau of Paris including gold ink. The motto in modern French, Fluctuat nec mergitur translates to Il est agité par les vagues, et/mais ne sombre pas, or “He/she is rocked by waves, and/but does not sink.” This can be found on the heraldic shield of Paris which can also be seen on Liberty's breast plate on the badge. Issued to raise funds for the Town Hall Wartime charites.

A couple more offerings with plenty more to come. A nice group, one of many types issued for the Exposition Internationale in Paris 1900. Followed by a set/part set(?) for the 1908 Housing (Home) Exhibition. These French Cinderellas have such merit !!

Many thanks to franoise for showing the Imperf airmail sheet and in a different colour too !! I wonder how many more there might be. Below is a series of Poster stamps for the 1907 Musical Congress held in Boulogne. I have not yet been able to find out if the Coldstream Guards were part of that event or not. Still checking.........but I guess they were. Another example of beautiful French Vignettes.

I 've been a member for a few months but not posted anything as yet, so please forgive me if I get this all wrong.
This is some of the labels used at the 1900 Paris Exposition. I've been told that almost two thousand different labels exist

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Passing through France in an estate album and did not add any new regular postage stamps to my world wide collection although I did upgrade a few classics with nicer postmarks. I did find a few revenues and these 4 Cinderella poster stamps. They were for the 1922 Aviation Meeting in Rouen. I see lots listed on eBay including perforated issues, full sheets, proofs as well as ones like I found. Even ones listed low do not seem to sell so I guess these will join my hoard. It appears the first air races in Rouen began in 1910.
