I rather like this souvenir sheet from Monaco, issued October 6, 1997. It celebrates the 700th anniversary of the Grimaldi dynasty and the evolution of the geographic territory of Monaco.

I don't think I saw this stamp in this thread when I perused every page the other day. It deserves a second look anyway if it is there! Love this Monaco 32nd Car Rally stamp issued on May 3rd, 1963!
I just noticed, the country name "Monaco" isn't a part of the design. Any reason for that? Was it just forgotten?

A selection of Tunisian stamps with various allegoric maps: I wonder how many Tunisian kids saw that INTERPOL stamp and decided on the spot that they never want to be a police officer. That guy looks like the Plague from Alpha Centauri! Likewise, the top right will probably turn an entire generation of Tunisians away from paleontology: "I was really into it in high school, but then I saw the Scientist with the Purple Brain and I was, like, naaah." I must look more deeply into Tunisian philately. Who knows how many jewels of this kind lurk? |

hrdoktorx I find the red/black bicolor combination of engraved stamps to be stunning. In its own, the subject could be a fun collection of the world. (inverts not considered)
