As a part of my US collection I collect Philippines under US control. This registered cover came into my possession today, but it has problems. Registered in Magdalena Laguna P.I. on January 2, 1933 the stamps on the front have been unceremoniously torn away. The Registration imprint also indicates the wrong year. It's been stamped 1932 then corrected in pencil here and on the back to 1933. Luckily the back more than makes up for the mess on the front. 10 2ยข #290s (a block of 8 and a straight edge pair) are cancelled within an inch of their lives. Five large cancels in Magdanena, another in Manila on Jan 3. Also a second Registration imprint in Manila on Jan 3. Two transit stamps in Victoria BC on January 24 and a receiver cancel in Toronto on January 29. Plus four target cancels, just for good measure. Canada Post can take a lesson from this, on how to cancel mail. This will go in the album backside out.
