For the Algerian 1926-39 issue showing the Marabout of Sidi Yacoub, Scott's Classic Specialized lists a minor variety as "Five Trees Instead of Four". But has no illustration of what they mean. So I went looking on the web and only found an auction listing for a block of four that said it contained the error. According to Scott's the error occurs in the stamp in position 53. Here's a cutout of the photo from the auction site that I "borrowed". I'm guessing the left hand stamp contains the error. It looks like it has an extra blob (tree) to the right of the tree on the left. Can anyone confirm that what I've circled on the left-hand stamp is the "five trees" error? If so, I don't have any! Thanks!

What I collect: Worldwide USED up to the 1960's, later years from countries that came into existence after then, like Anguilla, Tuvalu and Transnistria.

No illustration in Michel either, but it states "5 trees in the central arch". Same story with Yvert: no illustration, but it states this flaw is result of "spot on a cliche".

There appears to be two (one in-front of the other) in example 2 in original image with the red circles... On another note I always loved the colors of these issues. Reminds me of the old Camel cigarette packs too for some reason??

RIP "I love stamps", the last gentleman on this thread. I didn't know this thread existed, found it by chance when opening the Algeria 'subfolder'. Funny enough I've just been working on the 'Five threes' variety, so I just thought I could share some samples of the mentioned variety from my custommade pages. For those interested in Algerian varieties there is also another variety to look for mentioned in Yvert - a 'Cut tree' variety.
