Ryukyu Islands #WX1(1952), block of 9, perf 12.5x12 variety 2018 Scott catalog mint = $4 for single Collectors of US Christmas Seals may recognize the stamp design is the same as the US issue. That's because the National Tuberculosis Association (US) donated 6000 panes to the Ryukyu Tuberculosis Prevention Association. These stamps were then overprinted in black with the kanji characters for Ruy-Kyu by the Koshun Insatsusho (Naha). The overprint makes them Ryukyu Islands rather than US.

Ryukyu Islands #WX2v(1953), perforated through top selvage only variety 2018 Scott catalog mint = $30 for pane This and subsequent issues were printed specifically for Ryukyu Islands. So the 2 kanji characters in red are actually part of the stamp design rather than a subsequent overprint.

Ryukyu Islands #WX4(1955), perforated through top and bottom selvages variety 2018 Scott catalog mint = $20 for pane Note the panes in the previous posts were the “perforated through top selvage only variety”. This was the last year that the two different selvage perforation varieties were available.

A number of my few posts are just a smiley or two. Sometimes I stick in a stamp pic to make my posts relate to this forum. Yeah, I picked up a few bits of colored paper along the way...

Ryukyu Islands #WX9a(1960), imperforate variety 2018 Scott catalog mint = $20 for pane A little rusty on the translation but it appears to say as might be expected
Ryukyu Tuberculosis Prevention Association issued
Please use a tuberculosis prevention stamp/seal to eliminate tuberculosis from our hometown

Received two more sheets of the 2019 seals in a mailing that arrived at some point during the past week. The format differs from that shown above (7 rows of 8 seals each) but the seals themselves remain the same.

A bit off-topic, but perhaps of interest to collectors in this field: the Souvenir Card Collectors Society recently added a new section in its Image Gallery devoted to the cards issued by the Christmas Seal and Charity Stamp Society. Many of these feature reprints of very early U.S. Christmas Seals. I'll post a few here.

Ok, so I was given some discs of the 2008 Christmas Seal catalog, and 2007 Christmas Seal pages for free, with some other stuff I bought. I will give away the three discs, to the first three people who ask for them on this thread. I will not be mailing them for about two weeks though, while I am on Christmas break. So , who wants them? See picture of disc below:
