Leonov Alexey Arkhipovich In 1947, the family moved to his father's new place of work in the city of Kaliningrad. He graduated from high school in Kaliningrad in 1953. In 1960, he was enrolled in the first detachment of Soviet cosmonauts. In 1963, he was Valery Bykovsky's second understudy during the preparation of the Vostok-5 flight. On March 18-19, 1965, together with Pavel Belyaev, he flew into space as a co-pilot on the Voskhod-2 spacecraft. During the flight, he carried out the first spacewalk in the history of cosmonautics, showing exceptional courage, especially in an emergency situation when an inflated space suit prevented his return to the spacecraft On March 23, 1965, Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Arkhipovich Leonov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal for the successful implementation of the flight and the courage and heroism shown at the same time.

Yes, the postcard is concordant with the stamp. I prefer a different view on the subject, not a simple replication of image, but hey! It's OK.

2023 .Russia .Gliding sport stamp .Postmark First day. 100 years of gliding sport in Russia, city of Koktebel, Republic of Crimea. To the 100th anniversary of Russian gliding. First rally in Koktebel November 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of gliding in Russia. The countdown begins from the date of the first All-Union gliding competitions, which took place on November 3-18, 1923 in Koktebel. The first glider pilots were enthusiasts who made their own non-motorized aircraft from wood and fabric. Many legendary designers and future pilots began their journey into aviation and astronautics with glider flights, including Oleg Antonov, Sergei Ilyushin, Alexander Yakovlev, Andrei Tupolev, Sergei Korolev and many others. The same postage stamp. Postmark Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe. City of Nalchik, Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria Which one do you like best?

The top one was made officially by the state. That’s why I started making maxcards myself. Here is an example of a few more official maxcards Cosmonautics Day. No correspondence between the card and the stamp. Postmark first day. Cosmonautics Day. Kaluga city. 100 years of Gorodoshny sport. The first day postmark is not visible at all.

René renden 's post on another thread reminded me of this maxicard that I picked up a while ago for Scott 1386, showing William M. Harnett's painting "Old Models," with a first-day cancel. A simple one, but I like how it plays on Harnett's signature trompe l'oeil style -- an imitation still life in the painting, reproduced twice in the postcard and the stamp.

While I'm at it, here is another art-themed maxicard in my collection. This one uses Sc. 3652 (Andy Warhol) on a postcard showing one of his most famous works. The FDOI postmark is a little smudged, but I still think it's cool. This one isn't my own work, but I have thought about making a maximum card for Warhol's 100th birthday, which is coming up in 2028. Check back in four years to see if I've done it...

1997.Armenia.Stamp from the Europe Series. Few peoples of the world can boast that their ancestor is known by name. But the Armenians can. Armenian legends say: the ancestor of the Armenian nation was the legendary hero, King Hayk, who lived 4.5 thousand years ago. According to legend, Hayk (Հայկ) with 300 of his warriors and their families arrived from Mesopotamia (present-day Iraq) to the shores of ancient Lake Van around 2500 BC. Founded the first Armenian state between lakes Urmia, Van and Sevan, with its center in the area of the sacred Mount Ararat. The Babylonian giant king Bel (“lord”, “lord” in Akkadian) tried to capture the state of Hayk. The general battle between the Armenians and Babylonians took place in the area of Hayots Dzor (Armenian Gorge) near Lake Van around August 11, 2492. It is believed that this is the first battle of Armenians in history. It seemed that the Armenians would never defeat the countless army of titanium. However, something unexpected happened. Experienced archer Hayk was able to hit the giant Bel with an arrow. After which the army of invaders turned to stone, along with their horses and camels. And Bel himself was burned on the top of the ancient Mount Nemrut near Van. August 11 has since become Navasard (Armenian folk New Year) in the Armenian national calendar. Of course, this is all probably just a beautiful legend. But historians believe that the legend may contain real facts of the centuries-old confrontation of the ancient Armenians against their warlike neighbors, the Assyrians, Babylonians and others. The struggle of the Armenian people for their freedom, which has been going on for many thousands of years in a row. Armenians now call Hayk himself Nahapet (progenitor) or Nahapet. Where does the Armenian male name Nahapet come from? And the surname Nakhapetyan (Nakhapetov), which is borne, for example, by the famous actor Rodion Nakhapetov, whose father is Armenian. In Yerevan there is a famous monument to Hayk-Nahapet, striking Bel with an arrow.

An example of another failure. I didn’t have stamps. I asked to buy them in Armenia. And here’s the result. The stamps had to be pasted on top. As a result, the portrait of Aram Khachaturian itself is covered with a postmark. The second example is the official maxcard of the Armenian post. Ivan Aivazovsky. As a result, the blue postmark is not visible

Nice maxicards about the legendary Nahapet. Next time you send for postmarking, you could include a little drawing, on a separate paper, with a mock-up of how the maxicard should look like. Big rectangle (the postcard), small rectangle (symbolizing the stamp), and a circle symbolizing where the hell you want the postmark, EXACTLY. Idiot-proofing. Make it super-easy on the postmarking person. The "failure" of Ivan maxicards is easy to fix, by an open-minded collector, that will not exhibit it by FIP "rules". You simply scan/photograph the failure alongside a (mint?) identical stamp, as a companion image, for reference. Dominic Shen scans such juxtaposed items frequently. www.facebook.com/100003691570280/posts/pfbid02ggZYwGThmry3eR82mnhhrtiwNKFzN8FTkLQ5q8BefWXKs58CXqidyxNCDUvx5j25l/?app=fblNot only did Dominic juxtapose to the maxicard another stamp (from Romania) showing Bear's Ear (Primula auricula), but he also juxtaposed another Romanian stamp, showing Hen's Eye ((Primula minima). Or, maybe Dominic did not pay much attention, and simply juxtaposed everything he had with the name Primula. Who cares about taxonomy?

Previously, I discussed where to pour and where to extinguish. But my friend is older than me. He decided that he had already extinguished a lot for me. And at his own discretion he stuck on stamps and made the extinguishing
I prepared more cards for him. For the new Khachaturian stamp. I don’t know how it will turn out yet.
