rod222, Thanks for this. Very clever forgery. Is it yours? 'Faux' were commonly applied to Fournier's forgeries before his death, but there are no Southern Nigeria present in his 'Album of Forgeries'. Odd. Sperati also forged stamps from this country, but I don't have any reference material to compare to. I will put a 'Southern Nigeria' page up on my website, thanks for sharing. This is another forgery e

classicalstampsHi CS. Yes, the forgery is mine, I paid a handsome price for it, knowing it was a forgery, pro rata around $3 I am glad I did, as you say a clever forgery, I am still astonished at the level of legerdemaine, the yellow paper, the orange print is almost flawless, I wonder how he / she did it ? As with your examples, the perforation quality is exceptional. I am happy it has graced your wonderful forgery site.

Southern Nigeria King Edward VII 1907-1911 Third Series DefinitivesOn my last trip to the Charing Cross Collectors Market in London a few weeks ago, I found a seller (part-time dealer, new to me), who had well organized, nice material at very fair prices, so I bought a few items that I wasn't really looking for, but they seemed too good to pass up. I also noticed that this thread on Southern Nigeria has not had any posts in more than 6 years, and in the posts that were made, no genuine stamps were shown, only forgeries, and I think it's time to remedy that. Southern Nigeria, SG33-40, King Edward VII Definitives, 1907-1911, Short Set up to 1-Shilling, Watermark Multiple Crown CA

Southern Nigeria King George V 1912 Series DefinitivesI also bought these KGV issues at the Charing Cross Market on the same day as the previously shown ones. These are the last regular postage stamps from Southern Nigeria as a stamp-issuing entity, as they combined with Northern Nigeria into issues under the name of Nigeria starting in 1914. Southern Nigeria, SG45-52, King George V Definitives, 1912, Short Set up to 1-Shilling, Watermark Multiple Crown CA
