Interesting stuff, BC. You had me running (well reaching over to my left) for my 'Civil War Postal Issues of the Russian Revolution 1918-1923' collection that I got at auction last year (and posted somewhere here) to check all the Azerbaijans in the book. All authentic (a touch disappointed, because I do like forgeries, but I'll live), but did find this 1r Farmer at Sunset with an interesting plate flaw. Two diagonal black lines running across the image. I suppose printing standards on these weren't that stringent, so this may not be that surprising, but still...

Nice scan James. Perhaps those lines are constant on a particular position of the sheet. Notice also the yellow color shift. Here is a close-up of my 50r forgery with quite a shift.

Lithography. I am not au-fait with the printing process, however these lines have been referred to as "Doctor Wiper Blade" lines on other stamps, leaving similar lines. It would need a printer to explain if this were possible on these.
The wiper blades cleared excess ink of the screen before the next pass, on other stamps.
