Between 1974 and 1975, Japan Post issued a series of stamps, called 'SLシリーズ' (SL Series), to celebrate 10 popular models of their steam locomotives that were mostly domestically produced (except the last two models celebrated in the 5th volume). Each volume consists of 2 stamps. The first volume issued in 1974 shows models D51 and C57, nicknamed デゴイチ (Dego-ichi, 'D51' pronounced in Japanese) and 貴婦人 (Kifujin, literally 'noble lady'). The second volume issued in 1975 shows C58 and D52, nicknamed シゴハチ (Shigohachi, 'C58' pronounced in Japanese)」and デゴニ (Degoni, 'D52' pronounced in Japanse). The 3rd volume issued in 1975 shows models 8620 and C11, nicknamed ハチクロ (Hachikuro, literally '8 black') and Cのチョンチョン (C-no-Chonchon, meaning unknown to me). The 4th volume issued in 1975 shows models 9600 and C51, nicknamed キューロク (Kyu-roku, literally '9-6') and シゴイチ (Shi-go-ichi, 'C51' pronounced in Japanese). The 5th volume issued in 1975 shows models 7100 and 150. 7100 was imported from USA and had served in the development of Hokkaido. 150 was imported from the UK and was the first steam locomotive to operate in Japan, therefore often call 'No.1 locomotive' (1号機関車).

A less accurate guess on my tastes, but not far off, this imperforate 1979 stamp from the Central African Republic set issued for the centenary of the death of Sir Rowland Hill:

Earlier this month, I gave a series of lectures in China. One of the student attendees was kind enough to procure some stamps for me. In particular this double souvenir sheet in a presentation booklet from 2017 showing a Chinese high speed locomotive:
