Issued on 8 September 2000 (Central African Republic)  Although this issue was authorized by the Central African Postal administration, it was not sold in Central Africa, but only distributed by the Central African philatelic agency Impressor S.A. for distribution onto the philatelic market. This item was excessively produced effecting its philatelic value negatively. |

All the stamps I have posted here were legitimate stamps to be used by the postal system of the issuing country, apart from the Guinea-Bissau and the Central African Republic stamps which although issued by the relevant authorities were only for the philatelic market and not the postal system. The following stamp was a local unauthorized issue from Daretown, New Jersey. The Cadillac Local Post started in 1953. Apparently, when the service began, the mail was carried in a 1952 Cadillac Coupe Deville over a 60-mile route starting and ending at Wildwood, N.J., on Cape May."  |

Illegitimate stamp. Supposedly issued in 2010 P.R. Tongo does not exist.  That, as far as I am aware, is the last Gutenberg postage stamp (certainly the legitimate ones). |

What a treat Steve ( stampsmurf ), I have gone through the entire thread and was impressed by the breadth and depth of images for this one man. I was particularly taken by one of the later posting with its "Cadillac Local Post" as I do not believe I have seen reference to this anywhere in the past. Thanks for the showing...

Cinderella Stamp In the 1970s and 1980s, a New Zealander named Bruce Grenville began a hoax, claiming to have founded the Sultanate of Occussi-Ambeno. He invented a history for the Sultinate and produced many cinderella stamps for his creation. On 13 October 1977 he produced these stamps to mark the 600th anniversary of the birth of Gutenberg. 190 30¢ Violet & red 191 75¢ Yellow & blue 192 $1.35 Brown & red 193 $3 Silver & light blue  |

I also purchased this block of 4, but they have long since vanished and I've not come across this set anywhere since.  This set of four stamps were printed in 1958 to help fund the Gutenberg Museum Exhibition Building. I am lucky enough to have a set of the original stamps along with the little folder they came in    Folder with stamps inserted  I visited the Gutenberg Museum in 2015 and was able to purchase a sheet of these stamps along with the folder sheet which has been creased, but not folded to folder size   As an aside this sheet of stamps is still for sale from www.gutenberg-shop.de/en/Mainz/ for 1.90 euros (plus p&p) These antiquarian stamps, printed in 1958 to help fund the Gutenberg Museum exhibition building, are not just for philatelists. The few remaining examples are still sold in aid of the world museum of printing. Charity stamps in four different designs, printed with the utmost precision, with a leaflet in three languages (English, German and French). When this sheet of stamps is closely compared with the originals it is obvious they are a later reprint (or reprints) I apologise for the quality of the scans of the folder - my scanner did not pick up the faint grey line drawings very well |

The stamp issued on 5 May 1954 by West Germany has appeared on a telephone card and also a confectionery card Issued on 1 July 1991 by Deutsche Telekom  Card issued by Wand Confectionery Ltd in their Commemoration Stamps issue. Issued in 1962.  |
