Sometimes the overprinting misses the mark. Here's an example of a Djibouti issue (YT #471), shortly after independence in 1977, so overprinting an earlier Afars and Issas issue. But the French flag is still prominently featured. Maybe it should have been blacked out as well?  |

Our "own" CANADA flag - on stamp - Jun 30, 1965. Prior to our flag (Under the leadership of Prime Minister Lester B Pearson - a friend of my late dad) we used the Union Jack (U.K. flag) but in 1967 were were already 100 years into our confederation !! Union Jack  CANADA Flag (just ordered a nice Plate Block as I only had this used one - shame on me !)  |

Jeffs...I have gone to Library and Archives Canada.....Ebay...All my PDF's and find no indication there was a Plate block red and Plate block blue.
Where did you get that information...? Please post your information.

@wert Try eBay, search Canada 439, and look at all the plate blocks, each with 2 plate numbers, one for each color.  You might find a copy of Glenn Hansen's book on Canadian stamps useful, It is 30 or so years old but Glenn gave lots of attention to plate numbers. |
