Here is an uncommon item bearing 4 copies of the US 44-cent state flags, a certificate of mailing for multiple mailings. 5 or more mailings at the same time earned a discount to 42-cents each, down from what was $1.15 each + (don't recall for sure the exact single item cost) From 2010.  |

This seems to be a posting spot for both cinderellas and stamp issues.
From my Canada collecting days, the sheet of 16 flags of the provinces and territories,
but with SON cancels from each of the locations.
I had several friends in the Canada collecting circles who helped me get this done during 1979 and 1980.

Recent issue from Finland featuring the country's flag. Since this is a self-adhesive stamp, they played with the side perforations and made the sides straight where they meet the flag stripe. I also like the bottom half that is made to look like it is reflecting of a quiet lake (which of course reminds me of the Laurentian lakes north of Montreal, same geology and terrain).  |

Trying to do justice to the set of flags-on-stamps that Londonbus1 sent me, which did not all fit on the previous photograph because they are on double-sided stock-cards:   I'm particularly happy (ecstatic even!  ) to find among these the independence India flag issue from 1947 which I had been searching for to complete a set of flag stamps from each ITER Member State (a future topic for a newsletter item, if I can get around to writing it). And the Swiss issue with the flags from the CERN member nations also fits particularly well in my science-themed area.  |
