May 16th, 1967. This is a piece from my grandmother's collection. She used to purchase new French stamps from her local post-office in Asnières-sur-Seine as shown here: a strip of two with selvedge, with original gum, but one stamp with a clear dated obliteration, and in the other kept in MNH condition.

I had never heard of Belwood, ON before and there isn't too much that I could find about it online. In the days of that cancellation, 1937, it was bigger than it is now - a dam was built in 1942 which caused much of Belwood to be lost. But they still have butter tarts! The Belwood Country Market (source of the aforementioned butter tarts) has a brief history of the town, and there's a detailed article on the Shand Dam in a newsletter published by the Grand River Conservation Authority. 5 kopecks Soviet PSE used as blank after the dissolution of the Soviet Union from Pyatigorsk in the northern Caucasus to St Petersburg. Payment of the appropriate rate was indicated by the application of the rectangular postal handstamp: "Paid as per the tariff of the Ministry of Communications of Russia".
A very familiar address of Pyatigorsk.Valery Hovhannisyan is one of the serious philatelists of this city.I'll write him about this envelope.)))

May 24, 1986 Not sure if this is legit for this thread, since it's an unaddressed FDC. Italy, postal card issued in conjunction with the US Postal Card (UPSS S128/Scott UX111), featuring the same stamp design honoring Francis Vigo, who was active during the Revolutionary war against the British on the frontier, especially around what became Vincennes, Indiana.

26 V 1959 - Island cover – Vatnajökull to Hamburg, Germany Vatnajökull, (sometimes translated as Vatna Glacier in English) is the largest and most voluminous ice cap in Iceland, and the largest in area in Europe after the Severny Island ice cap of Novaya Zemlya. It is in the south-east of the island, covering approximately 8% of the country. (wiki) Enjoy your Sunday, wherever you are !!

French Morocco Scott#52, postmarked Sidi Slimane. I'm not 100% sure of the date. The 6 in 26 is somewhat ambiguous. It has a break in the bottom half like a 5, but the top half doesn't look like the other 5 in the postmark.

May 28th, 2002. Philatelic cover from the Greifswald stamp club. The cover features the Dessau-Wörlitz Gardens issue, which was voted the prettiest German stamp that year, and one of my favourites from that period. The cancellation and the illustration refer to Dr. Friedrich Löffler and the Greifswald University biology building named after him. I used to live a block away. Back in the DDR days, Greifswald had one of the best medical schools in the country and can still boast a long tradition of biological and medical research. On the darker side, the secret East German biological weapons lab was also in the area, on a secluded island just off the coast in the Baltic a few kilometers north.
