Nice postmarks. I don't think I have any, I'm not at my home (stamp cave) now. But I have never heard the term 'leap year day's before. In Norway we call it 'skudd årsdag'. Directly translated it will be shoot year day! 😊 Same for me....never heard of that terminology as we use the french année "bissextlile" which in fact is translated "leap year" by Google so I have learned another english term !! |

Luxembourg 14 franc Stately and Bourgeois Residences from a set of 3, issued May 10, 1993, and cancelled in Esch-sur Alzette.. This stamp features the Hôtel de Bourgogne. 600,000 were printed of each value.

Here is a delivery notice postcard for this day ( 7 March) in 1904. It was sent by the Lehigh Valley Railroad to J.E. Lentz, letting him know that goods are ready for pickup at the Allentown station. 
There are references to J.E. Lentz owing a few properties in Allentown, so he may have been a wealthy fellow. Looks like he also made boots. From the Northumberland County Democrat, 3 February 1898:  |

Lothian, Fife & Borders were all "regions" once upon a time in Scotland (1973-1996 to be specific, according to Wikipedia). The subdivisional organization of the UK has changed a number of times, sort of like some of our governmental subdivisions (health care comes to mind for me). This was a couple months after I got back into stamps, after 30 years of just dragging them to every posting I had in Germany, then back to Canada.

15th March (1894?) Hong Kong, Sc 44, 10-cent violet on red definitive stamp depicting Queen Victoria and postmarked on this date in Hong Kong, possibly in 1894. Only the last digit of the year is visible at all, and only partially, but it seems a reasonable guess based on similar CDS postmarks I have seen from HK and GB. Note on condition: This stamp is one of the many HK classic issues that are printed with water-soluble, fugitive ink. The very faded condition of the violet ink is most likely due to soaking of this stamp. The perfectly clean reverse side is another probable indication.

20th March (1939) Canada, Sc 223, 10-cent carmine rose commemorative stamp issued to honor the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and postmarked on this date in 1939 in High River, Alberta. Note on provenance: I got this stamp from Frog ( firstfrog2013 ) back in 2017 as part of a big auction lot to benefit TSF. Thanks, Frog!
