Luxembourg's 4 franc Grand Duke Jean's definitive, first issued in 1971. Scott #426 : Prifix Michel 2017 #829 (? not sure of the variant as I have misplaced this stamp. It's somewhere around! It could be normal or granite paper, fluorescent or phosphorous; one of the 4.) I need to retake the photo, as this one is a bit greenish-yellow toned.

16th May (1997) Italy, Sc 1659, 750-lire multi-colored stamp featuring the Rocca di Urbisaglia castle, postmarked in Florence (Firenze) on this date in 1997. Edit: Many thanks to my good friend Xavier ( hrdoktorx ) for identifying the Scott Catalogue number for me (see next post). I have now revised the original post to show that, as I typically do.

16th May (1997) Italy, 750-lire multi-colored stamp featuring the Rocca di Urbisaglia, postmarked in Florence (Firenze) on this date in 1997. Note: I did some online research to determine that this stamp was issued in Sep-1990, but I could not find it listed in my 2013 Scott Catalogue. If any member can provide a catalogue number or any further information on this stamp, I will revise this post accordingly. rex or tobben63 or Ryan , are any of you able to comment? Hi Chris, I think the Scott number is Sc#1659. This is a complement to a long-running definitive series so you need to go back to the original issue in 1980 to find the references to all the stamps of that ilk.

16 May 1988, Halesworth, Suffolk, UK. I just scanned this one and saw that it had today's date :-). At least, I think it is the 16th. It may be the 15th.

So far this one of my favourite threads on the forumand it is nice to be able to post here for the first time. The stamp is from "Tre Kronor", the longest running series in Sweden. The postmark is type 60 from Hälsingborg. In 1971, the spelling of the city was reverted back to Helsingborg on the postmarks.

If any members can comment on the red markings with stars that appear in addition to the black CDS, I would be happy to learn more about it! I seem to recall seeing a cover with similar markings. Perhaps an American censor OK'd the letter for furtherance in the mail system. Darned if I can find it now!

20th May (1922) Australia, Sc 28, 2-pence red definitive stamp depicting King George V, postmarked on this date in 1922 in a town that I am guessing to be Gunnedah, New South Wales. There were four possible towns in NSW that begin with G and end with AH, but Garah seems too short and Goonellabah and Gurrundah seemed too long, so I settled on Gunnedah. As always, opinions are welcome! Edit: Dave ( sherro), you are knowledgeable about classic Aussie postmarks.... any thoughts on this one?

Again a stamp from Sweden. This time from the 1936 issue celebrating the tercentenary of the Swedish Post Office. It is cancelled in Lilla Harrie, located in Skåne, the southernmost part of Sweden. The postmark is type 59, a very common type from early 1930s until approximately 2000.
