...First is this cover with a cachet of a doorway and inscription says Last Day Cancel Post Office Closed? ... Maretburg, KY, a fourth class post office, was discontinued on July 31, 1955.  |

Herman Melville, remembered as a novelist after he penned the acclaimed "Moby Dick", a story about a whale. Everyone knows his name and now here is his face as depicted on The Literary Arts Series FDC of 1984. August 1st that is. Sc. 2094.

Scott #111 : Stoneham #V386 (which has 6 variants: printed on gummed side, imperforate, inverted watermark, pale, orange or deep vermilion shades)
This one could certainly have been printed on the gummed side, but they only give a price for mint! Things that make you go "hmmm!"

West Germany - issued July 12, 1962 to show appreciation of choral singing. The music is from the choral movement for three voices "ln dulci jubilo" from "Musae Sioniae" by Michael Praetorius. The stamp shows the notes and a tuning fork, and was posted at Köln (Cologne.)

 Has anyone else been having issues with the first upload of an image not giving the link to the image?
I seem to have to upload two times now, or mess around getting the link from the first upload.
My way doubles the numbers of images uploaded, but is much easier for me.
