An early Geneva poster stamp, maybe the earliest. The design reminds me of a placemat. Amazingly, there is a snippet of film from the event: Back to the Barn, by Jean Alexandre Louis Promio. The Wikipedia says he travelled extensively in 1896-97 doing promotional clips for the Lumière Brothers. He was industrious, but plodding. This is promotional? Promio's stuff looks like random vacation Super 8s. Well, in 1896 there was much to learn about poster stamp deisng and movie making.
