20 May 1915 Upper Senegal and Niger YT18,issued in 1914 and with a Bamako R.P. postmark.  20 May 1933 French Guinea YT 93,issued in 1925 and with a postmark from Conakry.  20 May 1937 Guadeloupe YT 133-138.Issued in 1937 to commemorate the Paris International Exposition .The cancellation is from Terre de Bas.  20 May 1938 Senegal YT 131,issued in 1935 and with a Dakar Plateau postmark.  20 May 1950 French West Africa YT 37,issued in 1947 and with a postmark from Velingara,Senegal.  20 May 1954 Madagascar YT 313,315 and 309,issued in 1946 and with a Durban paquebot cancellation.  |

Germany 110pf + 50pf Charity (semi-postal) from a set of 4 windmills, this one being from the Lower Rhine. It states "For the Welfare" on top - the welfare of what? For people on welfare? It was issued October 9, 1997

25 May 1876 GB SG7,issued in 1870 and postmarked at Edinburgh. That is a very nice cover. The use of two halfpenny stamps instead of the normal penny red is very nice and Collectables . The destination , Kirkwall in the Orkney islands , is also nice . looks like they are plate 6 |

May 29Twenty years after the Panama California Exposition (1915-16), San Diego would attempt to jump start its economy in the midst of the Depression by holding another 2-year fair -- the California-Pacific International Exposition (1935-36). The3 cent, purple, perf. 11x10½ stamp on this unremarkable cover was postmarked in San Diego on its issue date of May 29, 1935 (Scott 773), which was also the opening day of the Exposition.

May 3030 .V. 80 - Floralies 1980 - Montréal, QC, CanadaThe first Floralies were held in Belgium in 1808 by gardeners, in Ghent. The Montreal Floralies ar the first ones to be held in North America. Some of the Stamps on this cover are of the Floral Definitives of 1979-1983 - Unitrade # 783-785-787-788(12 ¢ not assigned in Cat)

June 4First day cover for Canada's stamp honoring Pierre Gaultier de Varennes, sieur de La Vérendrye, an 18th century French-Canadian soldier, fur trader and explorer of Western Canada. The 5 cent, bright ultra, perf. 12 stamp was issued on this date in 1958 (Scott 378).
