Another CTO from East Germany (DDR) this time cancelled apparently in Berlin, but who knows where these were cancelled as they could do them anywhere! This one is from a 6-stamp set featuring cargo ships. It was issued June 22, 1982, making this a first day CTO. 5,100,000 were printed of this value. Scott: 2274 Michel: 2711

Happy 24 June. There are a lot of fruit and vegitable dealers on the Swiss side of Lake Leman. I have no idea what any of that is about. But someone appears to been trading raisins (well, something) long-distance. If I have it right, they paid CHF .30 base rate, plus .70 for airmail for a flimsy.

1962, June 27.
A stamp from the second installment of the long-running series celebrating past Nobel Prize winners. Postmark comes from one of the larger Post Offices in Stockholm: Stockholm 20. The cancellation is type 59G. These rubber cancels do very rarely provide good quality postmarks, so this one is fairly typical.

Here is a little knowledge on cancel spelling
Below is my Canada Admiral Scott 106 with a cancel { cancelled }
Americans favor canceled (one L), while cancelled (two Ls) is preferred in British English
Webster’s early 19th century dictionaries helped solidify many of the spelling differences between these forms of English, in most cases he was simply making note of an orthographic variation that already existed. Webster’s 1806 dictionary has cancelled, but in his 1828 the word is spelled as canceled.
Similar to the grey vs. gray debate....
