9 September 1890 Austria 5kr letter with a postmark from Trient,Trento.This is the 3rd largest city in the Alps , annexed by Italy in 1919.  9 September 1891 Austria SC59.Issued in 1890 and with a postmark from Leitomischl,now Litomysl in the Czech Republic.  9 September 1893 Austrian Levant 20 para Correspondence card with a postmark from Smyrna,now in Turkey.  9 September 1899 Austria SC57,issued in 1890.Postmarked at Klattau,now Klatovy in the Czech Republic  9 September 1992 Austria SC 1288 Featuring the monastery of St Paul,Lavanttal.Issued in 1985 and postmarked at Worgl.  |

10 September Two stamps Norway NK 809 70 øre Posthorn issued 1978. ( There was a later print 1988 on a different paper) Now for the cancel. BERGEN ANV. E 10-9-85 5000. ANV = Anvisning = when you pay something on the pot office (for a service or a package) they use(ed) this cancel on the note. E = the ID on that specific cancel. 5000 is the number of the post office, Bergen had several post offices, starting with 5000. The surrounding post offices filled up from 5000, my local post office as no longer exist has 5227. The numbers still exist in the addresses.  Austria Mi 1045. Issued 1959 Cancel KUFSTEIN 19.9. 1959. The stamp was issued as a part of the new definitive series that replaced the Austrian women series (Provincial Costumes 1948/58). Basilica of Mariazell is an important pilgrimage in Austria. The Basilica figures on several stamps from Austria and on stamps from other countries.  This stamp design was also issued in 1957, twice! Michel 1035 and 1037. As you can see the 1035 and 1037 has the designers name on left and right. the 1045 has only one designer name, in center.  1035 detail. Single inner frame.  1037 detail. Inner frame double line.

Hans Järta had an interesting life, a leader in the governmental reform movement after the assassination of King Gustav III in 1791. He played a major role deposing Gustav's successor, the famously incapable King Gustav IV Adolf in 1809, he was a major author of the 1809 constitution, among other things. And most important of all, his stamp got banged in Gävle on 13 September. |
