December 6th, 1922
Inflation-period cover from Skopin, Ryazan to Brussels, Belgium. Registered with standard black-bordered “R” label with handwritten registration number. Franked correctly at 300 rubles with 30x7R perf Arms (1919 re-issue of Imperial Arms with horizontal varnish lines) + 30x3k perf Arms (kopecks revalued 100x to rubles). Belgian control mark (circular 218 D) on front.
What a beautiful cover ! First time I have ever seen a Spiders web as an envelope design. Extraordinary!

December 8th, 1927
Large-sized cover from НЕЖИН (Nezhin) to Montreal, Canada, 23/12/1927, through “KIEW GARE” (bilingual Ukrainian-French), 9/12/1927. Registered with orange label of "Nejin". Franked with 2 х 20k “small head” worker + 8k “10th anniversary of October”, for a total of 48k (the regular foreign registered rate is 28k, so the 48k rate cannot be explained by a triple-weight letter, unless the increments are 10k ones. Alternatively, it could be an airmail rate through Germany: the rate that officially comes into effect 1/1/1928).

DECEMBER 10TH design of 1875-'81 BARTON MARYLAND- PIEDMONT COAL & IRON CO. BARTON ALLEGHENY CO., MD. On Scott #U46 or #U45 on cream stationery.
Here is the whole unaltered image of the full cover to see the actual color of paper.
However the U44, U45 & U46 are just the design designations of the catalog denoting many "different" issues with the same (or very similar) of many examples.
For instance:~
- Design U44 could be one of ~ #U159, #U60,#161,#+162 - Design U45 could be one of ~ #U163, #U164, #U165, #U166, #167 - Design U46 could be one of ~ #U168, #U169, #U170, #U171
So you can probably see my frustration with these right? lol Any help or assistance would be great and I am very super thankful in advance. -Jeffrey
It does have a rather fanciful watermark in the paper. (Shown below). Taken with a Fujj FinePix S700 Digital Camera and the subject at hand is held obliquely to my desk lamp.
Scanned @ 1200dpi to better show the postal design: {No manipulation at all}

I see it as U44 style, therefore only 4 choices, then being U161 (Cream)
Note : Diagonally Laid Paper.
My first awareness of a hairstyle called a "Queue", as worn by Washington.
Going by the date of production of the cover, one would assume Envelope Watermark #2 (1870-1878)

Cover from Тамбов п.-т.к. (Tambov) addressed locally (no backstamp). Franked at the intercity registered letter rate of 20k with “Large Head”. The non-standard registration label is pin-perfed on one side, on buff paper, with pre-printed city name and registration number.

December 12th, 1925
Advertizing postcard posted in Stratford, England to Moscow, 24/12/1925. The card was apparently sent unfranked and was thus charged postage-due. Upon arrival in the USSR, the fee was collected with the 12k / 70k Chainbreaker p-due stamp (very late use of this stamp).
The card was supposed to have been sent at a “printed paper” / matter rate, which at that time appears to have been ½ d to the USSR. According to UPU regulations, the postage-due charge should have been twice the deficiency, i.e 1d. (I have no information available about the exchange rate to rouble or on the other marks on this card). Interestingly, the card advertizes in Russian text the recording / microscope merchandise of F. Homan.

Hi Vasia, May I suggest there is possibly a stamp, lying under the stamp ? therby explaining the "unfranked" appearance. The machine postmarks not covering the stamp would suggest this, If so, a very intriguing and unique cover. Does the card feel as if there is a stamp underneath?

DECEMBER 13TH. BOSTON, MASS 1900 M.D. CRESSY & CO. TEAMSTERS & FORWARDERS. 109 SOUTH MARKET STREET, BOSTON ADRESSEE: W.M. CARR BRADFORD N.H.
(sorry about caps loc on...my bad)
Myron D. Cressy, who was also elected to the Massachusetts Legislature back in the day:
The addressee of the cover, W.M. Carr, was a retailer in Bradford, NH back in the day:
"Quote: William M. Carr & Company was founded in Bradford, New Hampshire in 1824 by William A. and Daniel Carr, purveyors of general merchandise. William M. Carr & Co. touted a full line of "Dry and fancy goods, groceries, grain, furniture, carpets, curtains, crockery, glass and silverware, wallpaper, boots, shoes and general merchandise." The company supplied all manner of goods to south central New Hampshire for over one hundred years."
Here is an old period check from the company (not mine):
Also an old lithography of the merchants business (not mine):

December 13th, 1937 Letter from the Gulag
Cover from ХАТТЫНАХ, ОХОТ-КОЛЫМ. Д.В.К (Kolymma, Far Eastern Territory) through Magadan, ОХОТ-КОЛЫМ. Д.В.К (violet postmark) to Kharkov. The handwritten address bears the indication of Nagayevo Bay, wherein Magadan lies. [Magadan was created in 1933 by Eduard Berzin, the first head of Dalstroy, to serve as a port for exporting gold and other metals mined in the Kolyma region. Dalstroy (or Dalstroi) was an organization set up in 1931 by the Soviet NKVD in order to manage road construction and the mining of gold in the Chukotka region, now known as Kolyma. Dalstroy is the Russian acronym for the Far North Construction Trust.] The letter is a correspondence from a correctional facility belonging to the Gulag administration. Franked correctly at 40k with 4 copies of 10k definitive.
The inside of the flap bears the prisoner’s name, birthdate and the fact that he was sentenced to 6 years by the Special Board under article 58-10 of the criminal code (info for censor): "Propaganda or agitation containing an appeal for the overthrow, subversion, or weakening of Soviet power or to commission of individual counter-revolutionary crimes (Sections 58-2-58.9 of this Code), and, in like manner, dissemination or manufacture or storage of literature of identical content shall be punished by deprivation of freedom for a period of at least 6 months. Identical actions in times of mass unrest or with use of religious or national prejudices of the masses, or in a war situation, or in locales where martial law has been declared, incur measures of social protection indicated in Section 58 of this Code. (6 June 1927 (S.U. 1927, No. 49, Section 330)."
