DECEMBER 28TH. HARRISBURG, PA.
W.R. McLHAIN ESQ. SALTSBURG, INDIANA
OK friends & Family I sort of need some of your smart assistance on this little fellow BELOW- Specifically the dial date code in the CDS. I just cant seem to accurately decipher it. If you can figure it out please let me know so that I can correct it- or possibly better- Your lil' buddy friend -Jeff.
I believe it is a Rail Road and maybe stands for {Jackson-Saint R__ RPO}??
Front:
Jeff, you're memory chip is faulty......... 2013....Steve (AKA: tomiseksj) thinks it reads "Jacksonville & St. Petersburg" RPO." Varieties Jack &St.... Jackson & St.... May need the computer microscope to determine what variety of CDS You can also determine, by measuring the arc of the top town spelling, and make a judgement.

Anything is possible I suppose? Perhaps I did have it late last year sometime? At any rate, I must not have corrected/updated the info then, so perhaps you are correct after all? Thank you kindly! -Jeff

December 30th, 1920
Cover from Alatyr (Ала́тырь) in present-day Chuvash republic to Kislovodsk in the northern Caucasus (13/1/1921). Registered with a manuscript notation of city name and registration number (see back of envelope). Franked correctly at the 10R rate with a 10k Arms, revalued 100x. The letter might have originated from a soldier given the hand-drawn militaria on the front, but it carries the full postal charge.
Looks like a 15Lb Field Gun, British Armoury Buffs would possibly identify it, Great Britain supplied Russia with Artillery during 1917-1920 I believe.

It`s December the 30th in Hong Kong Hi Alan, given the position of "Hong Kong" in the CDS arc, there is a word missing, I'd bet Admin's wallet, it would be "Kowloon" HONG KONG.

Well, dear friends, exactly a year ago I posted my first cover on this thread! It has been a very interesting journey! I have managed to show a cover or (in a few cases) loose stamps for about 95% of the dates. With my best wishes for the coming year, I would appreciate your thoughts on whether I should continue with items in my collection that I have not yet shown.
Please continue with your posts, Vasia! We have certainly enjoyed them! Happy New Year! -- Dave

Please keep posting. This is one of the most popular threads for people to view. You have done an excellent job with all your postal history and I enjoy looking at it.
Not to forget Alan Who has done a very fine job posting every day.

Another vote for continued posts - it astounds me that you have so much in what would seem to be a tightly limited range. I find that your posts often raise points interesting to me, arcane stuff like exonyms (boy, I like exonyms) and alternate Latin scripts and so on, things I haven't come across regarding Russia & the USSR in the past.

I think you should continue to do what makes you happy, and gives you satisfaction. As for your past work, it has been fascinating and informative, the real bonus arrives, when one day a like minded soul arrives that collects Russian Postal history, your work will be treasured. I felt the same way when I found Romaniastamps.com I join the chorus of supporters.

January 2From Damascus, Syria (United Arab Republic) on January 2, 1961 (Scott 33). I thought "that has an inverted date slug", then I realised 1961 looks the same upside down (you shall have to excuse me, I cycled 100Km this morning and I'm not real bright at the moment)
