I've never thought of tagging my covers and postcards by date. Cool. With a quick look this is the only May 8th I could find. Not terribly exciting but as a new member I need to add to my post count (smile). So, here it is: Unadressed First Day Cover Harry S. Truman Issue May 8, 1973 Perf 11 Sc. 1499 The catlogue said it was a Giori Press Printing - new to me, so I learned something today. According the US Postal Museum "The Giori press— named for its inventor, Gualtiero Giori — permitted two-color or even three-color engraving from a single plate, in one pass through the press. The secret was in the rubber inking rollers. The surfaces were precisely cut, applying each ink selectively to parts of the same plate." My wife and I (we both collect) like to learn at least one ' philatatoid' each day. That's mine.  |

Postmark is a type 58 from Kivik, a village in Skåne, best known for its apples.

Geneva cancelled Z38 Seated Helvetia or Struble. Ten centimes was normal letter domestic delivery. Cancelled Exp. Let., I assume for Lettre Expedition, normal delivery, but the reversed word order looks like a trap to snare me.
