I'm afraid "g" in Austrian pre-2002 stamps, stand for "groschen" a cent of schilling, the pre-euro currency of Àustria. The "gulden" was the pre-2002 currency of the Netherlands.

I stand corrected -- failed to look past the first currency line in the Scott catalog. Had I not done so I would have seen that the Gulden was Austrian currency from 1858 until being replaced by the Krone in 1892 (Gulden's remained valid until 1900). I've corrected the error in my previous post.

Tartu, Estonia, May 22nd 1991. Soviet stationery uprated with a manual print in Tallinn, Estonia
On January, 1st 1991, the soviet of the Estonian Socialist Republic, increased the internal mail rate from 5 to 15 kopecks (kopeck=0.01 ruble), without permision from the Soviet Post. The available stamps and stationery (from the USSR Post) were of 5 kopecks. By April 1991, the situation become complicate due to the lack of stamps to uprate Soviet stationery (there was, also, a Soviet embargo on the Baltic republics). But the Estonians didn't dare to issue their own stamps (the KBG assault on the Lithuanian tv, on the previous January, was too recent); so they decided to uprate the Soviet stationery available, and await for the Siviet reaction... That never came. This mean, in fact, the birth of the post od the Second Estonian Republic.

May 25, 1905 Postcard from Montreal to Lambeth, London. Card: Nr. 606 in a series by W. G. MacFarlane Pubisher (Toronto). A caleche and driver parked in front of a Maretllo Tower in Quebec City. Stamp: Canada, Edward VII 1c Green (July 1, 1903) Sc. 89 Fun fact: Nine of the fourteen Martello Towers built in Canada still exist. Canada is known for the removable cone-shapped roofs on our towers. Snow, eh? It's Canada.

"A Caravel was a small C15 - C16 ship with broad bow, high stern and usually three masts" - this 20 Ore piece was one of six values that originally started life in 1927, subsequently changing colour from grey to red - believe this is SG 278B. Have a feeling that this image ceased in 1940, and the location is probably Hemmet.
