The cover bears one 2k deep green, perf. 10 stamp depicting Pernstein castle (Scott 134; 1929) and one 50h myrtle green, perf. 10 stamp (Scott 168; 1930) of President Masaryk. Per Google translate, the slogan cancel is promoting the purchase of state lottery tickets.

July 22nd 1902 Winona Lake, IND. Scott #311 I believe this to be a contrived cover. It is indeed a partial wrapper cover as I originally thought it to only be a "cover front" but I managed to track another complete wrapper down. It makes sense since the sender was a Bible salesman and prominent clergyman in Indiana. (Reverend Wilbur J. Chapman) I'm however not convinced that this is legitimate. It looks too sketchy to call it so. Likely a damaged #311 David Farragut that someone tried to make into a gem...That it is not.   |

July 23From Toledo, Ohio in 1899. The cancel appears to be a Barry oval and the 2c red, type IV, perf. 12 Washington stamp is Scott 279B (May 1899). Information on the short-lived Lake Erie Park and Casino can be found here.  A cover from the German protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia with Nazi censor markings postmarked Rozdelov (now in the Czech Republic) in 1941. The stamps are a 1k deep rose, perf. 12.5 depicting the Cathedral at Prague (Scott 30) and a 1.50k rose carmine, perf. 12.5 showing the Brno Cathedral (Scott 32), both issued in 1939.

Letter from Moscow to New York via Berlin, 26/7/1930. The cover bears a Soviet airmail label and a purple rectangular “Mit Luftpost” German cachet. It is franked correctly at 45k (rate for countries using Berlin as transit point). The envelope is one of the automobile factory at Niznii Novgorod (“autostroy”) or, more accurately, its American partners at the time (“Austin company”).
[In 1930 a contract was signed by the Austin Company and its Soviet counterpart, Autostroy, to build a new city around the automobile factory at Nizhny Novgorod. Construction begun in May 1930 and was completed in November 1931. There were 20 American engineers involved in the project, among them Allan Austin, the son of the president of the Austin Company of Cleveland, Ohio. Austin regularly wrote to his father and took numerous photographs recording each stage in this vast undertaking. Allan Austin’s son has written a book on his father’s experiences: “Building Utopia: Erecting Russia's First Modern City”].

Postal card from Tver to Kokkola / Gamlakarleby (trilingual Finnish-Swedish-Russian cancellation) through St Petersburg. Kokkola, one of the oldest towns in Finland, lies close to the border with Sweden. The departure date, as per the Gregorian calendar, was actually August 8th, hence the significant discrepancy with the August 11th arrival date. The Grand Duchy of Finland, although part of the Russian Empire, was using a different calendar!

July 26In 1932 it was Post Office Day in Somerville, New Jersey. The block of six 1/2c olive brown, perf. 11x10.5 stamps (Scott 704) are from the Washington Bicentennial issue released on January 1, 1932.
