The joint issue between Mayotte and the TAAF, from 2011, featuring the Marion Dufresne ship, which does the postal link and supplying between France and the scientific outposts of the French Southern and Antarctic Territories.  Mayotte stamp has normal gum, TAAF stamp is self-adhesive. |

A postcard sent to me by Mick shows the Mauretania. Great Britain Sc 580, 1969. It should be said that the stamp depicted on the postcard is an unadopted design for the 1969 series mentioned by alanl. The chosen design was by David Gentleman. The Postcard is from a series issued by the British Postal Museum & Archive (BPMA) for the 2012 Stampex Exhibition at the BDC in London. |

Two more issues from Bénin featuring water-going vessels. The one on the right is an oil rig construction ship at work, as Bénin, although it does not have much of a maritime claim, still struck oil within its territorial waters.  |
